In Sons of the Forest, your survival is not only ensured with Stone Age tools. You’ll also find a state-of-the-art 3D printer in an abandoned bunker; we’ll tell you the location of the handy device.
Survival made easy: The cannibal-infested survival adventure Sons of the Forest may start out like the story of Robinson Crusoe. At a certain spot on the map, however, you can access modern technology that can save you a lot of manufacturing work. We’re talking about a handy 3D printer, a device that “prints” ammunition and other useful things based on blueprints.
The friendly little helper can be found in abandoned bunkers across the island; the underground facilities are in the middle of the forest in caves or under the ground via a floor hatch.

Where to Find the 3D Printer in Sons of the Forest
On the GPS devices below, you can see the bunker’s location. From the left to the right, the map is zoomed in step by step here. On the map, you will see a green marker that frequently appears on the island. At each of these marks, you will find a bunker that contains a 3D printer.
Look for a narrow cave entrance, through which you can squeeze through via the E key. Then just run straight ahead along the cave passage and shortly after that along the bunker corridor. The printer is just in the room ahead.
You can start printing arrows for the bow right away, more blueprints can be added gradually. In the surrounding shelves you’ll find additional printer resin, with which the device has to be filled occasionally. In the same room you can also take a nap and save your game.
If you leave the room to the right and follow the corridor, you will find an electronically locked door on the right, which probably requires a key card. In The Forest, a similar door was the exit to the game’s end; the sequel will probably not do it differently.
All items you can print with the 3D Printer
Once you have found the 3D printer, you need to fill it with resin and start the printing process. Unlike in the real world, however, you print in turbo mode in Sons of The Forest. Among other things, you can print tools, ammunition, and other objects:
- Red mask
- Drinking bottle
- Arrows
- Tech armor fabric
