Space exploration is one of the most important questions players are interested in before the game’s release. Read on and find out how landing on a planet works in Starfield.
It has long been known that the world of the game will not be integrated, and you will not be able to simply fly your spaceship to any planet. But it’s much more important to know how to land on a planet and how to explore it since most of the gameplay takes place on the surface.
Starfield: How does Landing on a Planet work?
To land on the planet, you need to select a location on the map, after which the cutscene will begin, and you will be on the surface. You can land literally anywhere except in places where it is physically impossible to do so, such as a body of water.
After you get to the surface, a location will be generated where quests and resources can be found. Many of them will be similar and repetitive, but there will also be a factional quest line. But some planets, depending on their species, maybe more empty than others. The terrain will be different for each player, but still, the geography of the planets won’t be different, so places like oceans are located the same for everyone.
The generated location will be of limited size, so if you move far enough away from the ship, you will come across an invisible barrier. But you can explore each planet completely by selecting another place on the map and moving the ship there. The locations that have already been generated will be saved, so when you return there, you will see that everything you have done will remain in place.
It should be noted that not all locations are random, and there will be those that are manually created by the developer and are the same for everyone. Basically, these are points of interest such as cities, outposts, or plot locations, and they will be displayed additionally on the map.
