Carrying too much weight in Starfield on PC may leave you walking but unable to run, at least until you learn our simple yet brilliant trick.
What’s the issue? Your maximum carry capacity in Starfield is quite limited, and after extensive loot sessions, you can quickly become too heavy to run. On PC, your options seem limited to either dropping heavy items or moving slowly by toggling Caps Lock. However, Guided.news has found a trick for all the overloaded PC players in Starfield.
Jogging fast despite carrying too much weight in Starfield – Here’s how on PC
If you’ve just completed a series of quests and want to collect the most valuable items to sell later, you may quickly become overloaded. Now, all that seems to be left is walking, unless you connect a controller. With a mouse and keyboard, you can only walk, jog, or sprint. With a controller’s joystick, you can smoothly adjust your character’s speed:
- Slow walk
- Fast walk
- Slow jog
- Slightly faster jog – Weight doesn’t matter up to this point
- Fast jog
- Sprint

So, when you’re overloaded, have your controller ready and activate it. Gently push the joystick forward until your character starts jogging. You’ll see your oxygen gauge in the lower left corner of the screen. Jog a bit faster until you find the sweet spot between “Running fast” and “Losing oxygen.” With this controller trick, you can move about twice as fast as with a mouse and keyboard, as long as you’re carrying too much weight and are too heavy.
