In the new Phantom Liberty expansion, after the release of patch 2.0, the developers have introduced changes to the list of ammunition that fits certain weapons, which may cause some confusion among players. In this guide, we will tell you where to get and buy SMG Ammo in Cyberpunk 2077.

We found it a little bit weird that each type of gun, except for Submachine Guns, has its own ammunition. We decided to check which ammo in Cyberpunk 2077 is suitable for SMGs and found a few ways to get it. All of them are listed below!

Cyberpunk 2077: How to Get Ammo for SMG

So, as we mentioned above, in Patch 2.0 to the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, the developers changed the classification of ammunition for weapons. Previously, ammo for Submachine Guns was classified as Heavy Ammo, but after the update, it became classified as Handgun Ammo. Basically, these are the same ammo you use for pistols. The good news is that you can easily get them so that you don't run out of ammo in your next shootout.

To get SMG ammo, you have to craft it. To achieve this, follow the below list of steps:

• When you are in the game, you will need to enter the inventory menu. If you are playing on a console, you will need to press the Start or Select button on your controller, or the middle button if you are playing on a PlayStation. For PC gamers, this menu is opened by pressing the I button.
• When you open this menu, you will see different options in front of you, but you should go to Crafting.
• You will need to select Handgun Ammo to craft ammo that is suitable for SMGs. As with all ammo crafting options, it's pretty cheap, and you can easily make the required amount of ammunition without any problems.

Please note that to craft ammo, you will have to use Tier 1 Item Components, which you can get by looting enemies or disassembling Tier 1 weapons. Otherwise, you can simply buy Handgun Ammo from any vendor who sells ammo, although it will be more expensive for you.
