Conan Exiles is entering a new chapter with the “Age of Heroes” update! Coming this October, this exciting new era will breathe life into your bases and introduce brand-new companions to accompany you on your journey.
Highlights:
The Age of Heroes update introduces brand-new NPC companions, distinct from the previous followers. These companions come with their own stories that you can uncover as you play. The first two companions include Freya, an Aesir warrior, and Liu Fei, a Khitan sorcerer.
These companions are fully voiced and develop their personalities based on the experiences you share. Your decisions will directly influence how their abilities evolve, making them much more than simple followers.
As Community Manager Andy Benditt shared during a live event hosted by Funcom, you can restart a companion's quests at any time if you’re not satisfied with their current state or if they meet an unfortunate end.
The update also revitalizes your settlements. Thralls in Conan Exiles will exhibit realistic behavior: they will work at their stations, sleep, eat, and move freely around your base. You can now place your thralls directly at their workbenches and watch them in action.
Andy Benditt assures us that you will still receive their bonuses even when they are not at their workbenches. This will make your base more lively and dynamic. Think of it like the tavern introduced in the last update, Age of War, which was the first step in this development.
The “Age of Heroes” update will enter its public beta on August 22 and is expected to fully launch sometime in October if all goes according to plan. It will be available on all major platforms, including PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
With these new features, Funcom continues showing how they constantly evolve the Conan universe. Your base will become more vibrant, and the companions will be valuable allies, providing you with exciting quests.
