The remake of Resident Evil 4 will be released at the end of March, and there is already plenty of information about what changes you can expect. Similar to Dead Space Remake, RE4 is said to have side missions that should expand your gaming experience.
That’s it: The remake of Resident Evil 4 has long been awaited by fans, and on March 23rd, the time has finally come. Similar to the recently released and well-received Dead Space Remake, the expectations for the RE4 remake are very high. Now more details have surfaced, including side missions and quick-time events.
Resident Evil 4 with Side Missions and No Quick-Time Events
In a Game Informer magazine cover story, Capcom talked about more details about the Resident Evil 4 Remake. The quick-time events that still existed in the original are said to have disappeared entirely in the remake. A significant change that the community has well received is the introduction of side missions to the game.
The Dead Space Remake has already demonstrated how the world and, thus, the gaming experience can be supplemented in a meaningful way. Side missions will help you learn more about the story, give you more details about what happened in the world, and add to the thick atmosphere of the action horror.
In the case of Resident Evil 4, the side missions are blue flyers you can find in the game world containing assignments for you. So far, however, it is only known that the side missions are different tasks, such as solving a puzzle or finding and killing certain enemies. It is not yet known who these flyers came from or whether there are more in-depth missions.
This is also new: There are also a few changes to the game that were not in the original from 2005:
- In Resident Evil 4, the knife is one of your most essential utensils, and in the remake, knife fighting is much more agile. But your blade can also break; accordingly, you can find new knives, buy them from the dealer, and store several in your inventory.
- Ashley Graham, the President’s daughter, will no longer have a health bar. Instead, she will go down when she has taken enough damage. If she’s down, you have to pick her up again. However, if she retakes damage, she dies. You can also give her a few commands, such as sending her through narrow spaces to open locked doors for you.
On March 23rd, the Resident Evil Remake will be released for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4 & 5. The developers will send us more information by then; we will keep you updated.
