The last season of Modern Warfare 2 (Season 5) has been released and a few weeks later the new Resurgence map is also released today.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 has started and marks the end of the life cycle of the Call of Duty spin-off, which was released in 2022. Modern Warfare 3 will be released in 2023 and will continue the story around Ghost, Price, Farah and Co. This is certainly not the last season for Warzone 2, but the battle royale game will still get a new map called Fort, or “Fort Resurgence”. We’ll now reveal what this is all about.
This is the new map “Fort Resurgence” in Warzone 2 Season 5
In Warzone 2 of Modern Warfare 2, a new map called Fort Resurgence awaits you in Season 5. This map is a small section of the well-known Al-Mazrah map, but focuses exclusively on the Al Bagra Fortress in the south of the region.
The Fort Resurgence map will alternate with the Vondel and Ashika Island maps in the Resurgence mode rotation. But be warned: the map is very tightly designed and offers numerous intense house fights. MPs and shotguns could be the meta here, especially with the current beast, the MX Guardian.
What makes the Fort Resurgence Map special are the high walls of Al Bagra, which allow for fights on the rooftops and towers of the castle. Here you have the opportunity to take strategic positions and surprise your opponents from a height.
When will Fort Resurgence & Warzone 2 Season 5 start?
- The new map from Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone will launch together with Season 5 on August 02, 2023.
- A time is not known, but should start around 17:00 (CET, Berlin) as usual.
- The preload will take place on PlayStation and Xbox on 01 August 2023 from 18:00.
- PC players will unfortunately have to do without the luxury of a preload.
