The Farm 51's PvP shooter World War 3 will soon start its second season. Most of the new content is already known; here is an overview.

World War 3 soon with Season 2: The developer studio The Farm 51 is originally known for horror-esque single-player shooters like Get Even and Chernobylite. However, the Poles also have a tactical multiplayer shooter in their program, World War 3, which, as is now known, will launch its second season on the PC on March 30th.

To mark the occasion, several new maps have been teased in advance, which are supposed to bring additional variety to the season update named "Operation Sunstorm". Broadly speaking, the new content will "expand the warfront in the Pacific," as well as adding a new game mode, new weapons and more. For what's known so far about World War 3 Season 2, read a bit below.

Which weapons & strikes are new in the update of World War 3

Weapons:

  • TYPE 89 (assault rifle)
  • QBZ-191 (assault rifle)
  • PF3 (Rocket Launcher)

Strikes:

  • TYPE X (battle tank)
  • TYPE XVI (fighter tank)
  • Bumblebee (Drone)

What exactly is the new game mode FUBAR?

FUBAR is a new variant of Tactical Ops that focuses on infantry combat and provides only a few vehicles. The objective is to either conquer or defend six points of conquest in 20-on-20 skirmishes. This new mode is meant to be a permanent addition to World War 3 and features infantry trucks as well as the new revive mechanic, allowing players to keep their teammates in the fight if they haven't already been taken out.

What are the new maps in Season 2?

First, enemies can be taken under fire at close range in an open shopping mall. In narrow alleys, it's a matter of closing gaps or securing your tactical advantage by means of vantage points. The latter are said to be "perfect for sniper and DMR duels in Tokyo (Tactical Ops)."

The second new map is Shibuya (Team Deathmatch), a famous Tokyo neighborhood. Once a vibrant commercial center with a thriving nightlife scene, this district is now in the midst of conflict. Matches can be contested on both day and night variants of the map; at night, admittedly, under the illumination of neon signs.
