The Russian RPG Atomic Heart celebrates its release but disappoints a group of players. If you play on a 21:9 widescreen, you must reckon with cropped edges – there is no FOV slider. We have a solution for you!
Here's the problem: If you play on a 21:9 widescreen as we do, you'll be disappointed with Atomic Heart. While the options offer the official resolution of 3440×1440, instead of expanding the field of view to the right and left, it is stretched larger, effectively cutting off the field at the top and bottom. The problem is visible in a direct comparison:
But thanks to the Flawless Widescreen program, the Internet has a solution.
To be able to play Atomic Heart in 21:9 without restrictions and with a good field of view, there is the Flawless Widescreen. This program allows you to force FOV options missing in the game itself. We explain how this works and which options are best.
Now you can start your game and immediately notice a difference. Flawless Widescreen automatically detects your screen size and adjusts the FOV automatically. If this is not enough, you can expand your FOV by up to 40 % under “In Game FOV - Fine Adjustment”, as shown in the picture above. The gallery shows you the options from deactivated to 20 %. Anything above this will no longer look good:
Important: The program must continue to run in the background while playing; otherwise, the settings will be reset.
