Disney Dreamlight Valley: Mike's 'Monstrously Good Taste'-Quest [Quest Guide]

Talk to Mike to start his second friendship quest, 'Monstrously Good Taste,' which you unlock by reaching the fourth friendship level. Mike still isn't completely happy because the Valley seems too clean for him, and he wants to bring some culture into the Valley, especially for Scrooge and Remy.

For Scrooge's shop, he wants to make a 'Monstrous Cologne' using the best ingredients. To get the smell right, you need to get a rotten carp from Remy and plant it at Dazzling Beach. Then you have to wait for 15 minutes until the fish has the right smell.

Create and Craft the Monstrous Cologne for Scrooge McDuck

Once the 15 minutes are up, you can harvest the rotten carp, which should smell exactly like Mike wants. To create the Monstrous Cologne, you need to gather or craft the following materials:

• 5x Empty Bottles: Crafted from glass at a workbench.
• 7x Rich Soil

With the collected materials and ingredients, you can craft the Monstrous Cologne on a workbench and bring the finished product to Scrooge to let him smell it.

Find a Buyer for the Monstrous Cologne

Scrooge thinks the smell of the Monstrous Cologne is terrible and says he only agrees to sell it in his shop if you can find a resident who would buy it. He suggests Scar and Vanellope as potential buyers since they are very different.

Even Scar is appalled by the smell of the Monstrous Cologne, which is why Vanellope is your last hope. She tells you that she finds the stench nasty but still cool and happily accepts the cologne as a gift. Return to Mike and report your results.

Cook the Gourmet Rot Dog for Remy

Mike is disappointed with the result of the Monstrous cologne but has another idea to bring culture to the Valley, this time through the culinary side. The recipe Mike has in mind requires the following ingredients:

• 1x Scar Hairball
• 1x Wheat
• 1x Milk
• 1x Shell

Where to Find the Ingredients:

Scar Hairball: You will find this item through this quest in Scar's cave.

Wheat:  You can buy wheat seeds for one coin either at Goofy's stand in the Peaceful Meadow (in the main game) or at Goofy's stand in the Ancient's Landing on the Eternity Isle (A Rift in Time). After planting the seeds, you only have to wait for one minute until you can harvest the wheat. You can then either sell it for 2 coins each or eat it to get 19 energy.

Milk: You can buy milk for 230 coins from Remy in his shop, located in his restaurant. It provides you with an energy boost of +345.

Shells: In Disney Dreamlight Valley, you have a choice between three types of shellfish:

• Clams (pink): You can find clams on the Dazzling Beach, recognizable by their pink color. Clams can easily get picked up from the ground or found through digging in the sand. If you don't want to eat it to get +120 energy, you can sell it at Goofy's stands for 45 coins.
• Scallops (light blue): Like clams, scallops are also found on and inside the sand of the Dazzling Beach. Eating the scallop will give you +125 energy, and selling it will give you 50 coins.
• Oyster (dark blue): Like the before-mentioned shells, oysters are also found on the Dazzling Beach. With an energy value of +250, which you'll receive by eating it, and a coin value of 250 you can earn from selling it, it is the most valuable of the three shells you can find.

Now, cook the Gourmet Rot Dog from the collected ingredients and bring it to Remy for tasting.

Find a Buyer for the Gourmet Rot Dog

After Remy had a bite of the Gourmet Rot Dog to try its taste, he tells you that it tastes like garbage, which you now have to report to Mike. Although Mike is sad, he understands that the residents have different tastes than he does. In the end, he gifts the Gourmet Rot Dog as a reminder of home to Sulley. Participate in the handover and speak to Mike to complete the quest.
