Cabbage: Cabbage is one of the new vegetables that were introduced with the “A Rift in Time” add-on. You can purchase cabbage seeds for 150 coins at Goofy's stall in the Wild Tangle. The seeds take 1 hour to grow before you can harvest the grown cabbage. After harvesting, you can sell each cabbage for 256 coins. As an ingredient or food, it provides you with +142 energy.
Potatoes: You can purchase potatoes or potato seeds as usual in your Valley at Goofy's stall in the Forgotten Lands, but you can now also find them on the Eternity Isle for 55 coins at Goofy's stall in the Wild Tangle. They take about 35 minutes to grow before you can harvest the grown potatoes. Consuming one potato provides you with +113 energy. By selling them, you will earn 126 coins per potato.
Author's Tip: Plant the vegetable seeds inside the biome, where you purchased them, to reduce the growth time and improve the quality. |

Then you can decide whether you want to sell the sausage and sauerkraut platter, eat it, or give it away as a gift to a resident.
Cooking has an important role in Disney Dreamlight Valley, as it gives you advantages or is necessary to progress in the game or obtain achievements.
Cooking to increase friendship: As you may be aware, each resident has three favorite gifts per day, which can help to increase your friendship level faster, compared to other gifts you offer them on the same day. Alongside these three favorite gifts, 5-star dishes also help to increase the level of your friendships. Furthermore, preparing and delivering orders for residents at Remy's restaurant also contributes to upgrading your friendship level.
Cooking to get energy: The majority of activities you can do in Dreamlight Valley decrease your energy, which you can restore by using prepared meals. These dishes will also grant you extra energy that surpasses the blue energy indicator that you can find in the top-left corner of your screen. This additional energy is shown in gold and can be used for surfing, allowing you to move faster around the village.
Cooking to earn coins: Each dish has a value, determined by the worth of the ingredients that have been used, and the cooking process itself. By selling these dishes at Goofy's stalls, you may earn a few extra coins.
Cooking to feed animals: Certain animals that you will meet in Dreamlight Valley refuse to consume raw ingredients and exclusively prefer cooked dishes. The ravens in the Forgotten Lands are a perfect example of this behavior, as they require prepared food and insist on 5-star meals if you want to befriend them.
Cooking for quests and star paths: Some dishes, for which you have fortunately obtained the recipes in advance, are also essential for completing certain quests. In star paths, it's not uncommon to receive tasks related to cooking dishes, which may involve explicit requirements or simply the task of preparing dishes with a certain number of stars.
