With the full release, Disney Dreamlight Valley has introduced a multiplayer mode. Our editor, Alex, has tried it out himself and shows in this guide how to unlock it.
In this article, you will learn:
On December 5th, developer Gameloft removed the Early Access label from Disney Dreamlight Valley – and, on the occasion of the release, added a lot of new content to its flagship. Now, the Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington from Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas," makes an appearance in the valley inhabited by Disney characters. Even better, Dreamlight Valley can now be played in multiplayer mode.

To be precise, human residents of Dreamlight Valley can host multiplayer sessions for up to four players, including themselves. However, this is not straightforward, as the start of multiplayer sessions is subject to a few conditions, which I will explain below.
All participants in a multiplayer session must first have a "Station Valleyverse." They obtain this from the little Vanellope from the animated film "Wreck-It Ralph," encountered during Uncle Scrooge's quest "The Ghost of Dreamlight Valley." The setting for this task is the Dream Castle, where the supposed ghost – Vanellope – awaits on the top floor of the building.
During this quest, the goal is to take a special picture ("DreamSnap"). Upon completing the task, not only does the corresponding DreamSnap feature become available, but Vanellope also hands over the Station Valleyverse to the player character from version 1.0 onwards – after providing her with her own house in the valley. A simple dialogue with the humanized programming error is sufficient.
The multiplayer station then moves to the player's inventory, from where it must be placed in the world, similar to furniture. This means the Station Valleyverse cannot be placed indoors but only in outdoor areas. Refer to the screenshot below for clarification. In this case, we positioned the object near a fast travel fountain.
Once the Station Valleyverse is operational, interaction with it is required. A message appears stating that crossplay is activated; click the "Confirm" button in the corresponding window. A brief explanation of the station follows, and then a special code for the players is generated. This code (for example, 931813) must be entered by the participants in their own game in the main menu.
The main menu is located on the startup screen, where the following steps must be taken:
If not all players have a Station Valleyverse, the sad non-owners will only see the message from the image above. What do you think of this approach? Should the start of a multiplayer session in Disney Dreamlight Valley really be tied to the conditions listed here? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments!
Disney Dreamlight Valley has been available since December 5th for PC (Steam), macOS, PlayStation 5/4, Xbox Series X/S/One, and Nintendo Switch. The full version is priced at 40 dollars on all platforms, with the DLC "A Rift in Time" costing an additional 30 dollars.
