In the quest that you receive from Merlin in Disney’s Dreamlight Valley, you have to activate the Pillar of Friendship. Our guide will explain the easiest way for you to do this.
You'll receive the quest, which is titled "Friendship is Everything" from Merlin shortly after you've explored a new world. The quest is about activating the Pillar of Friendship.

To pass the first task you received from the wizard Merlin to activate the Pillar of Friendship in Dreamlight Valley, you have to improve your friendship level to 5 with three different characters of the valley.
Giving gifts: Each character has three gifts that they would love to receive. These three items will be shown to you in the bottom right corner of the screen, after you have selected that you would like to give the chosen character a gift. However, what item each resident would like to receive as a gift, changes from day to day, so you should always check first to see which item they prefer.
The gifts they want the most will bring you a good friendship bonus.
Spending time with a character: You have the option to ask the characters that you want to increase friendship with to spend time with you. If you complete tasks while the character accompanies you, the friendship will be increased by a small bonus.
If you complete a task that the resident is specialized in, the friendship bonus you receive after completing the task will be higher. However, the bonuses you receive from these options are lower than the ones you would get for gifting one of the desired items.
Character quests: As you probably already know, you can also complete so-called character quests for the various residents that you find within the valley. These quests will not only help you to unlock new things but also bring a bonus that increases friendship by quite a bit. Of course, only after you successfully completed these quests.
Once you have managed to improve three friendships to friendship level 5, go back to Merlin again. He will send you to explore the pillar. As soon as you approach the thorns that enclose the orb, they will open, which gives you the opportunity to pick up the orb and bring it into the pillar.
An orb will appear, which you take to the fountain in the meadow, which leads to Merlin unlocking fast travel between fountains. Also, you can now unlock new biomes if you have enough Dream Light.
