In Hogwarts Legacy, there are several side quests on the map in which you have to follow butterflies that will lead you to a chest from which you will receive spell instructions for summoning. This guide will tell you how to unlock these quests and where you can find them.
What the guide is about: Besides the main quest, you can do various side quests in Hogwarts Legacy that you get by talking to side characters all over the map. Through these side quests, you’ll unlock certain items or benefits for you, such as more equipment slots that you’ll get through Merlin’s trials.
Complete the “Follow the Butterflies”-Quest to Unlock All Butterflies Location
You unlock the quest by traveling to Hogsmeade and into the Three Broomsticks inn, where you can see a woman, with the side quest icon over her head, in the back room. Her name is Clementine Willardsey, and she tells you about following the butterflies, and thus your quest starts, leading you directly to the first location.
Go to the location that is shown on your map, where the quest is to start. As soon as you are in the corresponding area, orange and purple butterflies will appear, which you must follow. This can be a bit annoying at times, as they can hover over everything or even fly zigzag. You can follow them on your mini-map if you lose sight of them. The butterflies will take you to a chest, from which you will receive spell instructions for summons or, more precisely, furniture and decorations for your Room of Requirement.
