In the role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy, it's crucial to regularly sell and expand your inventory. This guide is here to assist you with that.
Here's what you'll learn in this guide:
It's essential to understand that in Hogwarts Legacy, there's a difference between inventory items (like potion ingredients and similar things) and equipment items (such as cloaks, robes, and other clothing). Generally, when the game refers to "inventory," it's mostly talking about equipment items.
You'll be surprised how quickly your equipment slots fill up. At the start of the game, you only have about 20 slots, and each piece of clothing occupies one of these.
During the quest "Jackdaw's Last Rest," we had to destroy some equipment items to open all the chests. So, a vital tip: Before starting a significant story quest, sell everything you don't need. You can also destroy cloaks, robes, and other clothing items when you find a new chest. But this not only takes more time, it also doesn't earn you any gold. Selling your inventory is a much better option.
If you want to sell your inventory in Hogwarts Legacy, you can do so at any vendor in the open world. The fastest way is to travel to the nearest Floo Flame to Hogsmeade and sell your unwanted items at one of the shops there, like J. Pippin's, the owner of the potion shop, located right across the fast travel point.
To avoid having to sell equipment items too often, it's important to expand your inventory or the number of available equipment slots. You can unlock additional slots by solving Merlin's Trials found throughout the game world. When you open your menu and look under "Challenges," you can see what you need to do. For example, initially, you receive new equipment slots for completing two of Merlin's trials.
There are a total of 95 Merlin Trials in Hogwarts Legacy, each marked on the map with a leaf icon. Our guide “Hogwarts Legacy: All Merlins Trials - Tasks, Locations, Rewards” explains in detail how to solve all these trials.
