Now, the fifth advanced warrior class, the Slayer, is coming into play on May 10, 2023. We take a closer look at the new heroine in this guide and explain what you need to know about the Slayer class.

Class Overview, Role & Identity of the Slayer

This is the Slayer: The Slayer is one of the advanced warrior classes in Lost Ark and is considered a female remake of the Berserker. She acts as a melee fighter and fights against her enemies with a greatsword, using the burst mode to greatly increase her attack and movement speed.

How to play the class: The Slaughterer is all about the damage she deals with her powerful greatsword. So it's a DPS class where you can focus on either burst damage or critical hits and speed. At the same time, the Slayer offers a high degree of mobility.

In general, if you want to play the artist in the best way possible:

• Familiarize yourself with how the burst system works. How well you know how to use it will determine how effectively your Slaughterer can deal damage.
• Despite her large sword, the Slayer is very agile. Take advantage of this to attack enemies from behind and maximize your damage output.

The class identity of the Slayer

What can the class identity do? Like the Berserker, the focus of the Slayer's class identity is burst damage. Successful attacks fill your Rage Bar - when it is fully charged, you can activate Burst Mode, which then increases your damage and movement speed. Also, when in burst mode, you can use the Bloodlust ability to strike enemies with quick blows and push them back.

The most important attributes of the Slayer: for each class in Lost Ark, you should pay attention to various attributes on the armor in the endgame. In the case of the Slayer, they are the following:

• Versatility: More Versatilty means less cooldown on abilities, which in turn means more DPS or healing/support buffs.
• Critical Hit Chance: Further increases the damage of the Slayer.

The right skill for the Lost Ark Slayer

In Lost Ark, the first 50 levels hardly determine your final build later on. In general, you can reset your skills at any time for free and redistribute the skill points. You can build your skills however you like. Until you have all the points, you can experiment with your build as you see fit.

Which build you choose depends on whether you prefer to focus your DPS on burst damage (Punisher) or attack and movement speed (Predator). Both specializations are suitable for beginners and are similarly difficult to master - so you are free to choose according to personal preference.

How does the Slayer's rotation work? Your focus as a Slayer is always to fill your Rage meter so that you can trigger Burst Mode. Accordingly, you open the fight with your attack skills and then focus on damage or healing or buffs, depending on your build.

Rotation for the Punisher build:

• Wild Stomp
• Burst Mode
• Guillotine
• Volcanic Eruption
• Brutal Impact
• Bloodlust
• Ragna Break
• Furious Claw
• Guillotine

Use the basic attack when Brutal Impact and Vulcanic Eruption are still on cooldown. Use both skills only when Burst Mode is active.

The best engravings for the Slayer in Lost Ark

What are engravings? Once your character has reached level 50, you can use the important bonuses and buffs. Engravings provide you with bonuses and buffs to skills or character stats. It is important to mention that not every class can wear every engraving. There are normal engravings that you can apply to your current character as well as to your secondary characters. Then, of course, only after they reach level 50 as well. We also have a detailed guide that covers the engravings in detail.

Each class in Lost Ark has two class-specific engravings in addition to the traditional ones. In the case of the Slayer , these are:

• Punisher : your damage in berserk mode is significantly increased. In addition, Bloodlust has an increased crit chance and no exhaustion occurs (as with the Berserker), but burst mode doesn't last as long.
• Predator: You generate additional mana and rage, while your attack and movement speed as well as your crit chance are significantly increased in burst mode. However, exhaustion occurs after the rage meter is used up, during which you can't use bloodlust.

The Best Normal Engravings for the Lost Ark Slayer

You should take these other engravings with you: As mentioned above, you can take other engravings in addition to your class engraving. The normal engravings either improve your damage or give your equipment a buff. You can take a total of four engravings with you. The number of engraving points to invest is dictated by your equipment. You can get a maximum of 35 engraving points, which should be enough for three normal engravings and your class-specific engraving.

Which engravings you should take with you varies depending on your build? If you are using the Punisher focused skill, the following normal engravings are recommended:

• Adrenaline: You get a damage bonus per skill used; six stacks increases your crit chance.
  Grudge: You deal more damage, but also take more damage.
• Master of Ambush: Your ambush attacks deal additional damage.
• Cursed Doll: Your attack power increases, but your gained healing decreases.
• Ambush Leader: additional damage equal to a certain percentage of your attack speed (10-45 percent depending on the engraving tier).

If you decide to use a skill that focuses on the "Predator" engraving, you should also use the following engravings:

• Master of Ambush: Your ambush attacks deal additional damage.
• Adrenaline: You gain a damage bonus per skill used; six stacks increases your crit chance.
• Grudge: You deal more damage, but also take more damage.
• Mass increase: your attack strength increases, but your attack speed decreases.
• Raid leader: additional damage equal to a certain percentage of your attack speed (10-45 percent depending on the engraving tier).

Awakening abilities of the Slayer in Lost Ark

Just like the engravings, you unlock the awakening abilities only when your Slayer reaches level 50 and completes the corresponding quest line. There are two variants here, both of which you can unlock. However, you can only equip one awakening ability and not both at the same time.

• Execute: You create a Blade Weapon of Rage, with which you perform a series of different slashes to deal damage. Each slash creates a sword wound on the ground that explodes with the final blow, dealing damage and throwing enemies into the air. In addition, your damage increases by 20% in burst mode.
• Ragna Burst: You manifest your rage and strike the ground to deal damage and hurl enemies through the air.

Basically, we recommend you to use the awakening skill Ragna Break for the following reason: the animation for this skill is significantly shorter, which can be a crucial advantage, especially in raids.
