Lost Ark leaves new players spoiled for choice at the start: various classes are waiting to be leveled up. Now a new advanced assassin class is coming to the game on November 15, 2023 with the Souleater. We take a closer look at the new heroine in this guide and explain what you need to know about the Souleater class.
This is the Souleater: The Souleater is one of the advanced assassin classes in Lost Ark, who harvests the souls of her enemies with a giant scythe. She makes use of three types of attack: she strikes directly with the scythe, summons minions from the corpses of slain enemies and uses her powerful Death Master attacks.
How to play the class: The Souleater is an extremely mobile class with average survivability. This makes it a good DPS class for beginners, regardless of which specialization you choose.
In general, if you want to play the Souleater in the best possible way:
What can the class identity do? As already mentioned, the Souleater uses a giant scythe in battle. Depending on which skill you choose, your normal attacks will generate a certain resource (obsession or soulstones), which will allow you to switch to Death Master mode. This mode then provides you with particularly powerful attacks.
The most important attributes of the Souleater: For every class in Lost Ark, you should pay attention to various attributes on the armor in the endgame. These are the following for the Soul Harvester:
In Lost Ark, the first 50 levels hardly determine your final build later on. In general, you can reset your skills at any time for free and redistribute the skill points. You can arrange your skills however you like. Until you have collected all the points, you can experiment with your build as you see fit.
The build you choose for the Souleater depends on whether you prefer to focus on the most flexible rotation possible with the permanent option of Deathbringer skills (Full Moon Harvest) or on a particularly unique gameplay mechanic (Night's Edge). Both specializations are suitable for beginners and are similarly easy to master - so you are free to choose according to personal preference.

How does the rotation of the Souleater work? Your focus as a Souleater is to deal as much damage as possible while moving quickly and flexibly across the map. Depending on which specialization you choose, your rotations will vary slightly and you will concentrate on your Death Master or Dread skills.
Rotation for the Full Moon Harvest build:
Rotation for the Night's Edge build:
What are engravings? Once your character has reached level 50, you can use the important bonuses and buffs. Engravings offer you bonuses and buffs to skills or character stats. It is important to note that not every class can wear every engraving. There are normal engravings that you can apply to your current character as well as to your secondary characters. Then, of course, only when they have also reached level 50. We also have a detailed guide that deals with the engravings in detail.
Each class in Lost Ark has two class-specific engravings in addition to the standard engravings. For the Souleater, these are:
You should take these other engravings with you: As mentioned above, you can also take other engravings with you in addition to your class engraving. The normal engravings either improve your damage or give your equipment a buff. You can take a total of four engravings with you. The number of engraving points to invest is dictated by your equipment. You can receive a maximum of 35 engraving points, which should be enough for three normal engravings and your class-specific engraving.
Which engravings you should take with you varies depending on the build. If you use the skill with a focus on the Full Moon Harvest engraving, the following normal engravings are recommended:
If you choose a skill with a focus on the "Night Blade" engraving, you should also use the following engravings:
Just like the engravings, you only unlock the awakening abilities when your Soul Harvester reaches level 50 and completes the corresponding quest series. There are two variants here, both of which you can unlock. However, you can only equip one awakening ability and not both at the same time.
The two awakening abilities are not particularly different from each other, but we recommend the Deathbringer because using this ability replenishes all soul stones. If you like "The End" better, you can also use this skill.
