How to Find Saltpeter
Saltpeter is a raw material that you extract from rocks. You can often find deposits of the material in caves on the ground or in creatures’ nests. But be careful. Especially in caves and nests lurk dangerous monsters and creatures.
Tip: The rock often looks confusingly similar to the ground in the caves. Look for the white spots on the rock deposits. Saltpeter is found in them.
In the center of the map, the rock deposits are relatively rare. On the outskirts of the map you will find much more of the valuable raw material. Especially in the south there are many caves and nests where you can find it. We have compiled the areas with the most finds for you once again.

How to Craft Gunpowder
Of course, you can’t stuff the minerals you find directly into your musket. For that, you must first make gunpowder. Go to a workshop and assemble the following materials:
- 5x Charcoal
- 2x Flint
- 1x Saltpeter
You can then use the gunpowder to make firearm ammunition or explosive barrels.
