Sons of the Forest: Golden Armor Location

We'll tell you where to find the Golden Armour in Sons of the Forest in our guide. It is an important item if you want to play the SotF story.

That's what it's about: With Update 02, the location of the Golden Armour in Sons of the Forest has changed. You will no longer find it together with the Golden Mask, but in one of the large caves.

Where to Find the Golden Armor in Sons of the Forest

Before Update 02, the Golden Armor was in the same cave as the Katana and the Golden Mask. But in the update, developers moved this Story-Item into a new location, the entrance you can find just by following the screenshot below.

Still, consider that you should have a Rebreather to get the Golden Armor. It provides oxygen under the water, which is essential to get deep inside the cave. Fortunately, the Rebreather can be found in the remarkable Rebreather/Taser Cave in the map’s northern part. There will be no problems with getting this item.

Cave Walkthrough to Get the Golden Armor in Sons of the Forest

Once you are near the entrance, follow this cave walkthrough to get to the correct part of the cave where the Golden Armor can be found.

1. Chop the wood that covers the opening and then get inside the cave.
2. Go forward and then dive into the underground lake. It is without any crossroads; swim forward until you appear in another part of the cave.
3. Once you get out of the water, go forward again and then run down from the slope.
4. The slope ends with another underground lake. Swim through it and then turn right.
5. You will meet the first crossroad soon. Choose the central hole and get inside it.
6. Keep going forward until you find the golden path under the water. Make sure to follow it and then turn left once needed.
7. After that, keep going forward, passing tons of golden pillars, which are the main sign you followed the correct way.
8. Once you face the underground lake again, swim to the right side and then just follow its route.
9. Go forward until you face a wall and then turn right to enter the smaller cave.

Keep going forward a bit more, and you will find Golden Armor. Just press E and pick up the armor from the ground. It will be permanently added to your account.

How to Get Out of the Cave

Once you find the Golden Armor, it is time to leave the cave. Just follow the steps below:

1. Once you found the Golden Armor, turn right and find a rope in the air.
2. Use this rope to get up to the upper layer of the cave.
3. You will see another rope that can be used similarly here.
4. After that, keep going forward by the golden trace, and get up using a rope again.
5. Keep going forward and dive into the underground lake.
6. Get out of it, go forward, and then use a rope to get up again.
7. Go forward and run down from the slope, ending with the small lake.
8. Pass through it and then keep going forward, always choosing the right side at the crossroads.
9. Swim through the underground lake following its route and go forward again.

Congratulations! You successfully exited the cave and can now use the Golden Armor.
