  • There, discover a note labeled "Secret Outpost" to kickstart another mission called "Mantis".
  • This mission navigates you to the moon Denebola I-b in the Denebola system, where you'll face tough battles against Spacers.
  • Upon the corpse of a Spacer, you'll find an audio slate containing the password "T-Y-R-A-N-N-I-S".
  • Walk across a room stepping on the letters on the floor in the sequence of that password.

“The Old Neighborhood” Mission – How to get the Razorleaf in Starfield

The Razorleaf is probably the best beginner spaceships in Starfield, and you can grab it early on. When you start the game, you'll undergo a tutorial-like mission called “The Old Neighborhood.” This mission takes you from Mars to Venus and teaches basic spaceflight skills. You'll be prompted to scan a satellite during the mission, leading you to the Nova Galactic Staryard.

Pro Tip: When heading to the Nova Galactic Staryard, prepare for strong enemies, especially robots. Bring ample ammunition and healing items.

Arriving at Nova Galactic Staryard and Getting the Note to the Secret Outpost

Upon your arrival, eliminate all the spacers and look for a note titled “Secret Outpost” on some of the corpses. Reading this note will activate a new mission named “Mantis” in your quest log, directing you to a hidden base.

The secret base you must go to now is located on the moon Denebola I-b in the Denebola star system. The moon orbits the planet Denebola I. The star system is located directly below Kyrx on the left side and down to the right of Cheyenne.

Once you have found the base, you will soon come across a puzzle that wants to be solved by you.

How to Solve the Mantis Puzzle in Starfield

As you navigate through the base, expect high-level enemies; stock up on ammunition. After defeating them, you'll enter a narrow corridor filled with turrets. Here, you have two options:

  1. Solve the puzzle: Check the bodies of fallen spacers for a voice log that reveals the password “T-Y-R-A-N-N-I-S” to deactivate the turrets. Walk over the corresponding letters on the floor.
  2. Bypass the puzzle: Use the “AMP” health item to boost your speed and run through the corridor. Reaching the gate at the end deactivates the turrets.
