How to Get fresh drinkable Water in The Forest
We will now show you two different ways that you can treat water so that you can drink it. The problem is that there are some ponds and pools where you can find water. However, the water in them is polluted. You can drink it, but only at the expense of your health.
Boil polluted Water
The first option is to boil the contaminated water. However, you cannot hold the water over the fire with your hands. So you need a container. On the island of The Forest, you can find 5 old pots. With them, you can collect the polluted water.
Once you have stowed the water in a pot, you can place it on a simple fire or campfire. After a few seconds, the water is boiled and the impurities are gone. Now you can use it to prepare fresh water.

Collect Rainwater in The Forest
Besides boiling water, you can also passively collect water by using rainwater for yourself. However, for this, you need an additional device, which you need to build – the water collector. With it, you can collect rainwater and drink it.
You build a water collector from the following materials:
- 4x Stick
- 1x Turtle Shell- You can get the shells and the recipe for the water collector by killing turtles on the beach.
Once you have built the water collector, all you have to do is set it up and wait for it to rain. Then the water collector will fill up and you can simply drink the fresh and drinkable water that you have obtained from the rain.
Tip: You can store the water from the water collector in a pot or drinking tube. This way, you always have drinkable water with you when you’re on the go.
You make a simple drinking tube from the following materials:
- 2x Deer Hide
- 1x Rope
