How to Get Bones in The Forest

Bones can be found in several places in The Forest. For example, in all caves or near abandoned camps. But there are other ways to get bones. We will briefly introduce you to them.

With these options you can get bones:

Let cannibal limbs boil or dry for too long.
Burn complete cannibal bodies, for example, on a bonfire or with a Molotov cocktail.
Ignite an effigy and wait until it is used up – We have already described everything you need to know about effigies in a separate post.
Destroy effigies and burn or consume the arms and legs you collect.

When you burn you get a certain number of bones, depending on what you burn:

Arm: 1x Bone
Leg: 1x Bone
Torso: 2x Bone
Corpse: 6x Bone

Tip #1: As you can see, it pays off to burn the most body. Because this way you get 6 bones per body.

Tip #2: If you want to collect bones on a large scale, we recommend building a bone basket. You can store up to 86 bones in it at the same time. You only need 21 sticks to make it.

Get Bones in the Peaceful Mode of The Forest

However, when you play in Peaceful mode, no enemies spawn. Therefore, you can either go and search for bones in caves or abandoned camps or destroy effigies.

Also, you can easily spawn bones with cheats. With the command “developermodeon” in the main menu you can allow cheats. In the game, you have to press F1 to open the console, and then you can spawn a bone with “additem 178”.
