In Warzone 2, there is a mechanic called Jailbreak that can bring players back from what seems to be the final dead. We’ll now reveal when the in-game event takes place and how exactly it works.
Every Warzone 2 player knows it: you’re done in and the chance of resurrection via buy station is out of the question. Now, under bad circumstances, you watch for up to half an hour as your friends and fellow players struggle to win. But what if you suddenly come back out of nowhere? That’s the jailbreak in Warzone 2, but how exactly does it work, and when does the event take place?
When does the jailbreak event in Warzone 2 start?
What is Jailbreak exactly? In the Jailbreak event, you are randomly brought back into the ongoing Warzone 2 round. This happens as soon as the third or fourth circle appears on the map. That’s why you should never just leave a running match, especially in the later stages! You then start with a parachute over the map, without your teammates having to buy you back.
When does Jailbreak start? The crux of Jailbreak in Warzone 2 is that it always happens randomly. The event has no fixed timer or start time. There is also no date or cycle. For the start within a match, it’s best to target the late game. Note that the event is not timed. You can benefit from the jailbreak in every single round — or not. From personal experience, you can easily wait over 20 matches to benefit from the jailbreak for the first time in Warzone 2.

Are there no signs? No, there is no warning for you as a finished player before you are called back. Also, at the beginning of a match in Warzone 2, you cannot possibly determine whether or not there will be an outbreak in that round. As mentioned earlier, it’s random. Only your living teammates can tip you off that you’re about to drop!
That’s because just before the jailbreak begins, all living players in Warzone 2 will get a message. A yellow box pops up in the upper half of the screen. This reveals that a jailbreak is about to take place. In addition, a yellow clock appears, which shows the remaining time until your next mission. When the timer runs out, there is a final message that the outbreak has begun.
Afterward, a plane will take you and all the other patiently waiting people back to Al Mazrah. Here you can again choose where to jump off and meet up with your fellow players.

Tip: Already in the first moment after the announcement of the jailbreak, your teammates should gather you some equipment. Everything else can wait.
