Zelda TotK: Where to get the Shrine Sensor
In order to get the Shrine Sensor, you have to fulfill a certain requirement. It is necessary that you have reached the village of Hateno in the main story. Only there you can start the side quest “The Hateno Village Research Lab”, which will ultimately give you the Shrine Sensor.
However, in order to accept “The Hateno Village Research Lab”, you’ll first have to complete a whole series of other tasks. Such as:
- Talk to Robbie and Josha in Lookout Landing and complete the quest “Camera Work in the Depths.” It’s a side quest in which you’ll have to do research in the Hyrule underground. Joshua believes that there is evidence of an ancient race of people there, but of course she can’t go down there herself. In the abyss you’ll take a picture of a mysterious statue.
- After that, you’ll have to go to the northern underground of the Great Plateau to unlock the Auto Building skill. You’ll need it to build a balloon for Robbie to return to the research lab. Only there he can install the shrine sensor on Link’s cell phone.
- You’ll eventually complete the said balloon as part of the quest “A Mystery in the Depths”. You’ll get it once you’ve succeeded in the depths of Hyrule and returned to Lookout Landing.
Once you’ve done all that, you can accept the quest “The Hateno Village Research Lab” in the village of Hateno. You don’t have to do anything else for Robbie to install the shrine sensor on Link’s pad. It will also be fully functional right away.
The upcoming task is just to try out the sensor, in a field test so to speak. In doing so, you’ll complete the Mayahisek Shrine, for the solution of which you’ll receive a reward from Robbie. After completing this quest, the shrine sensor will be fully at your disposal.
