Zelda TotK: Activate the 5 Turbines in the Wind Temple

Note: To master the Wind Temple, you will need several potions that will temporarily give Link cold resistance. Land near the central turbine. After a movie sequence, a portal will appear there; interact with the hologram in the middle of the gate. You already know what's coming now: you'll have to gradually make your way to the five markers on the map.

First, walk straight ahead to the north. On the left hand you'll find a lever, which you'll flip with Ultra Hand as usual. Next to it is an abandoned lever on the ground, connect it to the lever on the right and use it to open the gate. Behind it you'll find the first turbine. Let Tulin use his wind ability on it so that the first lock of the hatch above the central turbine opens.

Your next destination is the building opposite, whose entrance gate you have already opened. There you can relieve a treasure chest of its contents. Then run back to the central turbine and let the updraft blow you up into the air.

At the bottom right is the entrance to the next turbine.

Once you reach the highest point, glide north again. You want to land on the "roof" of the building in front of you. Open the right of the two huge floor flaps with your Ultra Hand and carefully float down into the interior of the building. Look around as you do so, because you're looking for a large passageway behind which the next turbine has been placed. Activate it.

Next comes a slightly riskier maneuver: you'll have to glide past the fan in the floor of the building to get outside. To your left is an archaic trampoline, on which you'll land. Use its momentum to get to the next trampoline, and from there you sail through the large entrance on the left back into the building. Inside, keep to the left until you stand in front of a "chasm". This is open to the bottom. Sail down there and land near the third turbine on the left.

Once you've activated it, fly to the opposite side and take the stairs and ladder up on the left. Now run back down the passage on the left. After crossing a chasm with the help of plenty of tailwind, flip the lever in the far right corner of the stone corridor. To your left is a small staircase; walk up it and stand at the top of the steps to use Link's Climb skill. Shortly after, you will find yourself one floor higher.

Please float up through this ceiling.

Now lift the stone slabs in the north of the room to another place; underneath there is a treasure chest. Then walk to the southern end of the room and "pin" one of the stone slabs to the arm of the cogwheel there (up in the ceiling).

This way you'll be able to turn the gear counterclockwise, again using the Ultra Hand, of course. Turn it around several times and then activate the time reversal. To the right of the wheel, a higher grid in the wall will open. Climb up the ladder(s) to the top. Immediately on the left you will find the fourth turbine.

This is exactly how it works with opening the grille on the right side of the wall.

So there is only one more to go. Now jump from the east side of the temple and open the glider. You have to float to the position marked in the screenshot below and smash the icicles with your weapon. Turn inside to the right. You can overcome the big mill-like wheel by using the time reversal trick. It turns the other way around then and you can safely jump into one of the wheel blades to get behind the wheel.

The marker shows the entrance to the last turbine (in this guide).

On the right wall, a bit further back, you'll see another lever, which you use. Then use your bow and arrow to move one of the icicles hanging nearby to the ground, which you'll have to use as a wheel axle. Surely you've already seen the medium-sized gears near the next passage. One of the three wheels doesn't turn, so insert the icicle between the second and third cogs. The gate will then open and you can activate the fifth turbine behind it.

Icicles also make pretty good axes.

Still not finished? No, there is still one last step to do. Go back outside to the central turbine and interact with the portal again. That's it for the puzzle part of the Wind Temple, but you still have a big boss fight against the spiky ice dragon Colgera ahead of you. Have fun!
