Today, May 8th, fans of DayZ can look forward to an announcement of gigantic proportions. We'll provide you with all the clues here and update the post at 4:00 PM (CET) with the final details.
Frostline DLC for DayZ is Official. Key Points at a Glance:
DayZ Frostline has now been officially introduced by community YouTubers such as M1ndr or Marks. The DLC is priced at around €13.00 at launch and will be available on all platforms. Here is everything about the new map, Sakhal:
Is it Tanoa? Yes, indeed, Sakhal is based on the Arma 3 map Tanoa. However, the main island has been moved to northern Russia. For those unaware, Tanoa is originally a tropical archipelago loosely based on the Fiji Islands in the South Pacific. Don't worry, the map has been heavily revamped and offers entirely different locations, buildings, flora, and fauna.
Several months ago, we at Guided first reported on the upcoming new map for DayZ. At that time, there was only a brief teaser trailer showing the Yellow King. He was seen on a runway marked with the number 35 (indicating the orientation of the runway). DayZ fans have been searching for this airfield in all sister games.
The airfield was presumably found on the tropical island of Tanoa, which belongs to the Arma 3 DLC "APEX." Developer Bohemia Interactive had also already integrated this map into the new Enfusion Engine (Arma Reforger & partially DayZ). The trailer also shows ash or snow falling from the sky.
A trademark registration dated April 25, 2024, now names the new DayZ DLC "DayZ Frostline," which strengthens the hints for a winter setting. What this has to do with the Aztec culture obsession of the Yellow King remains to be seen.
When is there more? Selected influencers will provide the first bits of new information from 2:00 PM. Press outlets will then reveal all the details at 4:00 PM. Despite years of active reporting, Guided has not received an invitation to the event or any preliminary information. Nevertheless, we continue to keep you up to date with the best reporting.
So far, DayZ has only one paid DLC, which takes you to the map of Livonia. Here, you can find underground bunker puzzles, lots of forests, and military exclusion zones. The map for this DLC also originally comes from an Arma 3 DLC "Contact," whose release we had also predicted.
This DLC will now be free for all who have already purchased DayZ. For all new customers, the survival game will become slightly more expensive, though the developers have not yet revealed by how much. Customers who had already purchased the Livonia DLC separately will receive a digital soundtrack as compensation.
