The DayZ update 1.18 is out and already playable on the experimental servers. We have summarized all patch notes for you and show why this patch is one of the best so far!
The update at a glance: DayZ Patch 1.18 is finally here and brings a lot of new weapons, explosives and could change raiding in DayZ forever. There are countless new items, fixes and brings trains, to Chernarus and Livonia:
What's new & what's known? As in most updates in recent history, DayZ Update 1.18 brings back some already known items. Among other things, you can look forward to the derringer or the return of faction bracelets. Everything else in the patch, however, is completely new and absolutely insane!
The new version brings a total of 5 firearms, of which only the aforementioned derringer is already known. In addition, however, there are also new variants of known weapons:
We had already speculated about the purpose of the M79 grenade launcher, yesterday. The Derringer is a pistol that can hold two rounds and occupies just 1x2 slots. This makes the weapon a good backup for both main and secondary weapons. (More pictures will follow as soon as possible!)
No one expected this: The developers are giving you a whole range of new kaboom fun with DayZ Update 1.18. Among other things, there are classics like C4 or trip hazards. But it doesn't stop there by a long shot:
All new explosives:
There is also a remote control for the C4 plastic explosive. You have to put a battery in it, then you can detonate your C4 charges even from a distance. But what are the new explosives meant for in DayZ?
For a long time, a large part of the community has wished for more options to raid bases. The main argument was that it was too easy to take apart a base. After all, this can be done with grenades (6 per wall) as well as simple firearms. In the patch notes of update 1.18 we unfortunately couldn't discover any change to the base structures -- maybe in an upcoming hotfix?
When will the update be released? You can download and test DayZ Patch 1.18 right now. On PC, all you have to do is download the experimental version from your Steam library. Click on play and choose a suitable server.
More about DayZ |
While the DayZ Update 1.18 was playable on the test servers, there was a lot of criticism from the ranks of the players. Especially the weakness of the walls and base building elements were criticized by the fans. The developers reacted and made the player bases more resistant to damage with a hotfix.
Before the hotfix, 5 grenades were already enough to destroy a wall. With the release of update 1.18, raiders now need up to 12 grenades to completely destroy a wall. The other stats have also changed:
These were all the new features and the most important adjustments that DayZ Update 1.18 brings. If you want to know more about the fixes or server maintenance, you can find it on the developers' website.
