All new features & contents of the now live DayZ Update 1.21
New Clothing & Knight Armor
The new DayZ Update 1.21 brings two new variants of gloves, which also have a new purpose. Without gloves, the fall damage will be higher — more on that later.
- Woolen gloves
- Another pair (Not shown yet)
But much more important are the new armor pieces. Among other things, there is an entire medieval armor:
- Chain mail legs
- Chain mail chest
- New helmets
- Breastplate
- Boots

New weapons & fan favorite in update 1.21
The entire update is dedicated to the Middle Ages. So there is not only medieval armor, but also corresponding weapons. Among other things, there are now:
- Great morning star
- 4 different crossbow variants
The crossbow can carry various aiming devices. Among other things, you can screw on a red dot. Also, the crossbow is now larger than in the Legacy version and there are new animations. When you fire your crossbow at an enemy or animal, you’ll see the bolt sticking out of the body. You can pick it up again afterward.
Improved inventory
DayZ update 1.21 brings improvements to the inventory. Overall, the inventory is now brighter and your character is more visible. The developers have also adjusted many icons of the items.
What else is coming? Some content the developers could not share during their livestream. Due to the Arma livestream directly following the DayZ stream, they were under time pressure. We will find out some more changes and new features in update 1.21 on Thursday, April 20.
