In the latest Community Crunch from Wildcard, the developers of ARK, the concept of a new 8-legged resident for ARK 2 was shown, but where is the promised roadmap hiding? We'll tell you what you need to know.
Here's the deal: The developers of ARK: Survival Evolved regularly post news and events on their Community Crunch, a weekly dev blog. Now they have presented a new creature concept – the announced roadmap is still missing so far.
In February, Wild Card teased its fans, who have been waiting a long time for new information about ARK 2 and the ARK: Animated Series, by announcing a RoadMap, which is supposed to show the future plans of all content regarding the ARK franchise, so possibly release dates as well. In mid-March, they fired up those waiting for the roadmap by hinting that it was about to be released:
The ARK roadmap is just around the corner, and we’re itching to give you a sneak peek into the future of the ARK universe.
Fans concluded that the roadmap should be included in the latest community crunch, which, unsurprisingly, was not the case. However, the developers won't have much time left until the beginning of April if they want to publish the announced roadmap this month.
However, developer Wildcard is known among fans for postponing announced content or information. So we wouldn't be surprised if we had to wait even longer for the roadmap.
Update March 19th, 2023: Jeremy Stieglitz, the co-founder of Wildcard, has confirmed in a tweet that the roadmap will be released on March 31st.
Attention: Arachnophobic people beware! A new nightmare is in town!
The new eight-legged member of the ARK creature family goes by the name of Araneomorphus and will never appear alone, but armed with smaller spiders, her own young ones if necessary, which she carries on her back. If this large predator sees you, she will unleash her young on you, or attack you with her spear-like front legs – so better take your legs in your hands and run!
The first part of its name refers to the Araneo, which you could already run into in ARK: Survival Evolved. However, the Araneo seems much smaller and less threatening than its new relative, the Araneomorphus, which is already salivating from hunger. Whether you have to passively tame the Araneomorphus remains to be seen.
