Player pulls a knife during the CSGO Major in Paris - That was probably fake

The final goes to round 2 and Vitality takes the lead on Overpass against GamerLegion. In between, the camera pans to the crowd and camera personnel keep an eye out for the most exciting events. A case opening in the front row is a natural eye-catcher there, so they keep on it:

The trembling fan clicks the buy button, confirms the deal and opens a revolver case. A few seconds later, the result rolls up on Rare Special Item, in this case a knife. And not just any knife, but a Bayonet Doppler! The reaction of the fan in the front row is correspondingly euphoric. After all, pulling a knife from the Paris Major during the finals is something special - or fake.

How he got caught: As if trust in Counter Strike wasn't already weakened due to various "Oh, he's cheating" accusations, now people are even faking their case openings in front of a live audience.

Most fans will have noticed the missing "Inspect Item" button. Well, it could be that the fan hasn't updated his CSGO since August 2022. At that time, the Inspect function was introduced for crates. The fan also doesn't seem to update his Steam client very often. The Steam version on his laptop is already over a year old! And the fact that he closes the laptop again right after pulling it and doesn't look closely at all is already an indication for many.#

But a real traitor was actually Apple. The technology giant simply doesn't use Windows on its own devices. The fan who pulled a knife during the Paris Major probably didn't think this fact through. Because if you look closely at the recording, there is Windows running and not MacOS on his Apple notebook.

And he rehearsed his movements on the trackpad so well that they completely match the mouse movements in the video used. Too bad so many other factors gave him away.

Update: Various sources on twitter.com report that the fan is said to have already admitted that his case unboxing complete with drawn knife was just a fake. However, we cannot find a real statement from the fan himself.

How lucky were others with case unboxings during CSGO Paris Major 2023?

Throughout the course of the CSGO Paris Major, many put their luck to the test and opened cases. They were sometimes cheaper and sometimes crazy expensive! However, no one seems to have really landed a real lucky strike.

Among others, you could watch YouTuber Anomaly opening weapon crates 1 that cost €100 each. YouTube colleague Fitz takes this to the extreme and tries his hand at the €1,200 Cobblestone souvenir packs. In these slumbers the popular and well-known AWP: Dragonlore, which Fitz unfortunately could not pull.
