The 6.0 update for Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 introduced numerous new features, but it also brought crashes and connection issues. In response, the developers at Saber Interactive announced on February 10 that they are working on a hotfix.
Summary:
On February 10, publisher Focus Entertainment confirmed via a post on X that update 6.0 is indeed causing frequent crashes and disconnections. The post linked to a developer note that provided further details on the issues.
Saber Interactive directly addressed the community, stating:
"Update 6.0 rolled out last week and we’re closely monitoring how it’s going. We’re happy to see that the new added content (both cosmetic and gameplay wise) are liked, and also to see that the perk balancing are the source of many discussions.
On the flip side, we noted a number of crashes and connectivity issues that were introduced along with this update, so we’re planning to release a hotfix as soon as we can."
The developers did not provide a specific release window for the hotfix but acknowledged other issues currently affecting Space Marine 2.
One of the most pressing concerns is the Invigorating Icon perk, which Saber Interactive considers too powerful. When combined with team perks, it can reduce its cooldown from 120 to just 20 seconds, allowing for complete healing every 20 seconds. The original intention was to increase the cooldown by 100%. However, in the current version, the cooldown remains unchanged from before patch 6.0.
Another bug introduced in the update causes Spore Mines to remain active much longer than intended, likely due to the addition of the Biovore. There is currently no immediate fix, but the developers are investigating the issue.
The developer note also mentioned some gameplay changes that were not included in the official patch notes:
Assault Perk: Wings of Flame
Bulwark Perks
Vanguard: Grapnel Launcher
Saber Interactive confirmed that the upcoming hotfix will primarily address crashes and connection issues. Other fixes, including balancing adjustments, will be implemented in a follow-up update.
