Since its release, Cyberpunk 2077 has established itself as a real top-class RPG with a future setting. Therefore, fans are eagerly awaiting the next big update for CD Projekt’s role-playing game, namely Patch 1.7. But what exactly does this update have to offer?
What is it about? Considering CD Projekt’s previous update policy, it’s obvious that the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 will release various bug fixes and detail improvements with Patch 1.7. However, the contents of patch 1.7 probably go far beyond such patchwork. What exactly awaits you and what we know about the update so far, we summarize for you in this article.
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.7 – General Info
First things first: Patch 1.7 for Cyberpunk 2077 will only be released for the PC and Google Stadia as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The last-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will only receive smaller patches with bug fixes, but new content and also the upcoming expansion called Phantom Liberty will be left out.
Furthermore, it is not yet clear whether CD Projekt will stay true to its own naming scheme with the next update and whether the planned content will really appear as “Patch 1.7”. However, for the sake of simplicity, we’ll still refer to it as Patch 1.7 in this article.

What new features can we expect with Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.7?
Even though the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 haven’t officially announced the upcoming patch 1.7 yet, Game Director Gabe Amatangelo chatted about the (near) future plans for the role-playing game in an episode of Night City Wire:
Amantengelo mentioned three major new features that could soon find their way into Cyberpunk 2077 and thus into the game with patch 1.7:
- Improved vehicle system: Battles with vehicles should be possible – the developers are thus fulfilling a wish fans have been expressing since the game’s release.
- Better police: Extensive overhaul of the police system.
- Better Melee Combat: New perks and an adapted gameplay loop for Melee battles, new cyberware.
The developers couldn’t and wouldn’t reveal many details about the individual upcoming features yet, but the teasers so far sound promising.
When will patch 1.7 for Cyberpunk 2077 be released?
The question that Cyberpunk fans are probably most likely asking now, namely when exactly Patch 1.7 will be released, cannot be answered conclusively yet. The developers have not yet announced an exact release date, let alone confirmed that all the new features mentioned above will be playable with patch 1.7.
Nevertheless, we can at least venture a prognosis at this point: Judging by how much time the developers have left themselves between the release of Update 1.5 and Update 1.6, we assume that Patch 1.7 will be released about five to six months after Patch 1.6. That means: Patch 1.7 will come in 2023 at the earliest, probably sometime in the spring.
