Today, December 14, marks the release of the first major update for Warzone 2's Extraction Mode DMZ. To the chagrin of many Tarkov fans, the update brings a high-security area called Building 21, which for most is clearly copied from Tarkov Map Labs.
What's up? The latest update of Warzone 2 and DMZ is out, and it brings a new location to the Al Mazrah map. Building 21 is the name of this location and in order to enter it, you have to fulfill very specific prerequisites. This requirement and the location itself are too much for Tarkov fans: A discussion breaks out in the community how much "stealing" is still okay and when should be the end for Activision. (At the end of the article you'll find a poll on the topic!)
What does Building 21 offer? The new area in DMZ is supposed to house the toughest enemies and the best loot in the entire game. Most importantly, you're supposed to find contraband weapons here with maximum essay count and (presumably) a lot of cash and valuable items. The money is known to help you level up faster or buy better equipment at a store.
How to enter building 21? To enter "Labs" in DMZ, you need to find a corresponding key card or get it through missions. How to get the key card is not yet clear. Various leaks have already talked a few days ago about the fact that there will be different key cards, which can open various areas in the new building 21.
When will there be labs in DMZ? The update has already been released. However, you will be able to try out the new content for DMZ and Warzone 2 as soon as it is unlocked at 7pm (CET). Players have not yet found out where Building 21 or Labs are located on Al Mazrah. But if you want to stay informed, bookmark this post. At a later date, we will share all known information with you here. But you'll never miss anything via social media (via Linktr.ee)!
While DMZ-only players are happy to see new content and an end-game activity, Tarkov fans are climbing the tables. By their own admission, many could still relate to DMZ's heavily Tarkov-inspired concept. However, copying the map and the idea behind Labs is now beyond the scope. This is what the well-known US streamer StoneMountain wrote on Twitter:
DMZ is adding a new labs area that requires key entry, which will have special rooms inside requiring keycards. Idk how it’s legal straight ripping off tarkov, but labs is my favorite part of that games end game.
Other players defend publisher Activision, saying:
Labs is not its own unique idea. Copying it is legal because they create their own assets, their own unique story and put it in their own game. They wouldn't do it if it was illegal.

But what is your opinion? What do you think about the new location of Building 21 (Labs) in DMZ? Do you think it's a good idea, or is the concept simply too boldly copied? Vote in the poll below, you don't need to register.
