In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you now have the opportunity to participate in the Charizard Tera Raid event. What you have to do to participate, as well as the best attacks against Charizard, is revealed in our guide.
About Charizard: Charizard is the third and last evolution of Charmander, one of the starter Pokémon from the first generation. Meanwhile, the dragon is one of the most popular Pokémon of all generations. So you should take the chance to participate in its own Tera Raid.
Tera Raids are new in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but they are similar to the challenging Dyna Raids in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Alone or with other players, you'll face off against a powerful pocket monster, coordinate with your team, and ultimately catch the Pokémon yourself.
The Charizard Tera Raid event is a 7-star raid and will take place twice in December, each time over three days:
You must meet these requirements to participate in the 7-Star Raid event:
During the event, Charizard can be caught after a victory. If you have caught a female Charizard, you can let it mate with a male Charizard, to get a Charmander-Egg. There is currently no other way to get Charmander, Charmeleon, or Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. So don't miss this chance!

In order to successfully fight Charizard in its Tera Raid event, it is quite important to know what weaknesses the orange dragon has. In the event raid, Charizard belongs to the Tera type Dragon, so it has a weakness against the following Pokémon types:
However, you should note that Charizard is a Fire Pokémon in its normal form, so it has an easy time against Ice Pokémon. Fairy types are therefore the most suitable, as they are completely immune to Dragon-type attacks and only receive normal damage from Fire and Flying attacks.
