Escape From Tarkov is getting a new event, and this time it even interferes with real life. Players all over the world are searching for messages from the developers in their cities, on beaches and in forests. What is behind the new Tarkov event and what new content it can bring in the coming days is now revealed to you by Guided.news!
What is this event? On the morning of October 16, cryptic messages flooded the ARRS website of Tarkov developers Battlestate Games. Users quickly found out that there were coordinates and images in these messages. However, no one really wanted to search until BSG confirmed, “These are real coordinates, search for them!” The pictures included locations from all over the world. Whoever found the message, post it. Whether or how this is related to the recent video on the Lore character Rhysy, we now clarify.
New Tarkov event on October 16, 2022 – News around the world.
What is there to find? If you have searched diligently and know your region, you may be able to find a message from the Tarkov developers. Via Twitter, fans are still collecting information, which you can certainly help with. The notes themselves sometimes report about the Terra Group, sometimes about kidnapping victims. A man dressed in civilian clothes is said to have kidnapped various people. The mysterious thing is that the notes are distributed all over the world. Tarkov, however, is a restricted area near St. Petersburg (in this fictional world). So who outside this zone knows about the secrets of the Terra Group? Who leaked these messages is unclear.
Where were messages found? So far, the community has found notes in four locations around the world. There are probably five messages in total, one remains open:
- St. Petersburg – Russia
- Istanbul – Turkey
- Tokyo – Japan
- San Pedro – Spain
- Frejus – France

New event, new content? The current status of the Tarkov event
October 20 – Event Progress
- The developers have published a new post via Twitter, in which an unknown person thanks the helpers. Thus, he writes that he would never have managed to gather all the information alone, and then thanks “player names” and the group SonsOfSoon. Behind this group is the Tarkov-YouTuber NoiceGuy!
- The event seems to be over for now. Nothing has changed in Escape From Tarkov itself. The ARG (Alternate Reality Game) seems to have focused purely on the lore behind EFT. Once again, everything seems to point to the imminent introduction of in-raid merchant Lightkeeper.
October 18 – Event progress
- The community has reviewed and put to the test various maps and bosses in Escape From Tarkov. So far, nothing seems to have changed in the actual game.
October 17 -Event Progress
- Currently, the community is still busy puzzling over what the scavenger hunt is all about. Two major events seem to be likely candidates for upcoming event content: One conjecture relates to the upcoming launch of Streets of Tarkov, although we personally don’t think there’s enough of a connection there:Secondly, the theme around Rhyzy searching for his son could point to the cultists and thus Lightkeeper. We remember: Rhyzy’s son was kidnapped, presumably by the cultists. In-raid merchant and cult leader Lightkeeper (Map Lighthouse) is still out and we can’t visit him.
However, in the coming days, the developers should expand the new event in Escape From Tarkov. We know the last events, which sometimes dragged on for weeks, only to end up delivering nothing at all — let’s hope this one is different.
