Updated July 21, 2022

Crytek has released a trailer that officially presents the event. Some previous assumptions are correct, while others are not.

This is your task in the event: In the Serpent Moon Event, you will search for and collect snakes on the map, which you in turn have to sacrifice at other points on the map. However, care should be taken when collecting the snakes as they are very vicious.

The Serpent Moon Event in Hunt: Showdown - We know that

The Serpent Moon event in Hunt: Showdown is the follow-up to the first event, the Traitor's Moon event from late March. As in every other event before, the task of the players will probably be the following:

  • Destroy event items on the map to earn points.
  • Kill monsters and bosses and complete normal hunt tasks, also for points.

The accumulated points can then usually be spent on rewards, such as exclusive event skins for hunters and weapons.

It could also go differently: Crytek has already mentioned that they want to adjust the events over time. So whether we'll get a typical Hunt: Showdown event again or something new is still unknown.

What can already be seen in the teaser?

In the short teaser itself, we can already make out a few things:

  • Right at the beginning, a few images flicker. One shows a new weapon. It's similar to the Sparks LRR, only in a sawed-off form. So it could be a Sparks LLR as a pistol conversion.
  • As we progress we see already familiar weapons, dynamite, Molotovs, and syringes. Nothing new.
  • The open book first shows a stabbed moon and "Chapter 1", which is the Traitors Moon Event.
  • The other side shows "Chapter 2" and the skeleton of a snake. Possibly a new boss? On the other hand, the legendary weapon and hunter skins will probably only get a snake style (You can already see that in the cover image and in the teaser when the weapon is shown - see image below).

Hunt Serpent Moon Waffe

Entitled "Something new is coming with the Serpent Moon! What could it be?" Crytek also posts another short gameplay video:

In the video, we see a player walking towards a foggy cornfield. Gunshots can be heard, possibly from the pistol version of the Sparks LLR. Ravens fly away, so there might be something lurking in the cornfield. But the teaser doesn't tell us more.

The event starts on July 27th, we will keep you informed!
