In order to have a chance at being the last man standing in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, you must first acquire weapons. If you’re unsure about what guns to choose from, we have created a guns guide for you to reference here. Where you choose to spawn in can greatly impact the weapons you can obtain, though each area has an unavoidable risk factor. It’s also worth noting that picking up gear like armour and med kits can add to your chances of survival.
Sosnovka Military Base
The Sosnovka Military base is a highly targeted area for players looking for good gear. The most common guns at this location are the SCAR-L and the M16A2. You can often find sniper rifles, assault rifles, military armour, attachments, and other goodies. However, the number of players seeking to scavenge in this area is high and is therefore a higher risk to explore. So beware! This location is considered the deadliest of all drop points.
Yasnaya Polyana
This little town is a good starting point for those not familiar with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. While this location doesn’t offer the best options for weapons, it is relatively safe from full-fledged warfare. That doesn’t mean let your guard down; you should still take caution when roaming this area, as there’s always a good chance that there is an enemy close by, or even a sniper lurking in the distance.
Georgopol
Geogopol, much like Sosnovka Military Base, has very good weapons and other gear to choose from. It’s a good idea to stay away from this area after the start of the game, as many people will camp themselves with snipers and wait for unsuspecting victims to pass through. This location is also home to roughly 4 vehicles which may be used for retreating quickly after obtaining your items. Despite what this area has to offer, we recommend you steer clear if your shooting skills are shabby.
Rozhok
This abandoned schoolhouse offers a surprisingly good amount of gear to choose from. There are many vehicles that can be obtained along the main road running through this area. Rozhok’s most common guns include the Karabiner sniper rifle, M249 and the SCAR-L. While gathering items in this area be cautious of players that may be hiding in dark areas and around corners. But for the most part, Rozhok is fairly safe if you don’t stick around too long.
Lipovka
Lipovka is an awesome little location for gathering military gear, with drastically less enemies than Sasnovka and Georgopol. At this location you will likely come across assault rifles and sniper rifles along with scopes. Keep an eye out for other players that are parachuting in, as whoever gets there first will become armed and dangerous. If you aren’t among the very first few to make it there, it would be wise to back off and seek out another area for refuge.
Severny Firing Range
Located in the southwest of Severny is the Severny Firing Range. You can expect to find military-grade weapons such as assault rifles and sniper rifles. Most of the time, when you choose to land at this location there will be others foraging around this area as well. If you can, move quick and get out fast, otherwise you may find yourself in a tense firefight.
Air Drops
High up in the skies are planes that do, every so often, drop wonderful items for players to lose their minds over. Airdrops include random equipment such as ammo, armour, weapons, and other items. The planes can be heard overhead in advance, causing players to scramble towards an estimated drop location. You can use this excitement to your advantage and wait on the sidelines with the drop in view to take out players.
Since PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is still an Early Access game, things are always subject to change in the updates. According to some recent reports from players, a majority of the guns and ammo found in the usual spawns are scarce and almost non-existent. Despite these complaints, there has been no word from the developers as to why this is happening.
We shall keep you updated with any further news.
