In the last man standing survival shooter video game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, the weaponry is the greatest factor for survival. We have collected the information on every weapon to guide you through the options in the 8 different available classes. Here is our gun guide!
Assault Rifles have a medium to high ammo capacity with decent accuracy and reasonable range.
AKM
Ammunition: 7.62mm, 30 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The AKM has 3 available add-ons including magazines, sights and stocks.
Comment: The AKM assault rifle ranks second in highest effective range, with slow firing speed and high damage. It has the lowest power rating of the 4 available assault rifles.
M16A4
Ammunition: 5.56mm, 30 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The M16A4 has 3 available add-ons, including magazines, sights and stocks.
Comment: The M16A4 assault rifle offers two fire modes, "Single" and "Burst". It boasts the highest fire rate and greatest effective range for the assault rifle class, while offering medium to long range distance accuracy.
Ammunition: 5.56mm, 30 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The M416 has 5 available add-ons including grips, magazines, muzzles, sights and stocks.
Comment: The M416 is currently the highest modifiable assault rifle available in the game. It is considered to be the best assault rifle available and among the more rare spawning weaponry. It boasts high power and excellent range, stability and firing rate.
Ammunition: 5.56mm, 30 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The SCAR-L has 4 available add-ons including magazines, visor mountings, mouth covers and grips.
Comment: The SCAR-L has the lowest power rating of the 4 available assault rifles. However, the high firing rate can be considered compensation for what it lacks in power. While this gun can be used for long range, it is best suited for mid to close range use.
DMRs (Designated Marksman Rifles) fall between Assault Rifles and Sniper Rifles. They have a range just below a sniper rifle and deliver higher damage than any assault rifle. DMRs work best as a short to medium range precision rifle, though they are not ideal for assault.
Ammunition: 7.62mm, 10 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The SKS has 3 available add-ons including magazines, muzzles and sights.
Comment: The SKS is a semi-automatic DMR. This gun is an airdrop exclusive, so it can't be found easily on the map. It is currently the only available DMR in the game.
Submachine guns are good for close range combat, supporting ammunition styling close to assault rifles. Submachine guns bare low accuracy and power, though they can be overwhelming against enemies in close quarters due to their high fire rate.
Ammunition: 9mm, 25 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The Micro UZI has 3 available add-ons that include magazines, muzzles and stocks.
Comment: The Micro UZI is a light submachine gun. With such a high firing rate, this gun becomes easily unpredictable in its accuracy towards enemies that aren't close range. It works best when fired at enemies that do not have armour equipped.
Ammunition: .45 ACP, 100 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The Tommy Gun has 2 available add-ons including magazines and muzzles.
Comment: The Tommy Gun is a submachine gun available only through airdrops. This gun has a maxed out firing rate and even with 100 bullets per clip, they'll run down seemingly fast.
Ammunition: 9mm, 30 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The UMP9 has 4 available add-ons including grips, magazines, muzzles and sights.
Comments: The UMP9 is another submachine gun. It has low damage output and stands as the most modifiable submachine gun so far.
Shotguns are excellent close range weapons. They deal a great amount of damage to an enemy in close up, though they aren't good for mid to long range use.
Ammunition: 12 Gauge, 5 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The S12K has 3 available add-ons including magazines, muzzles and sights.
Comment: The S12K is a semi-automatic shotgun with low range and excellent volume. It is great for taking out multiple enemies at once with a low downtime when reloading.
Ammunition: 12 Gauge, 5 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The S1897 has 2 available add-ons including bullet loops and muzzles.
Comment: The S1897 is a shotgun with excellent damage output. With the Choke attachment, this gun can be used for mid-range encounters.
Ammunition: 12 Gauge, 2 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The S686 has 2 available add-ons including bullet loops and muzzles.
Comment: The S686 is a shotgun that may be seen as the least favourable shotgun as each clip is limited to 2 bullets. However, it is effective at both close and mid range.
Sniper Rifles are ideal guns for taking down enemies from far distances. However, they do have a low clip size and a low fire rate.
Ammunition: .300 Magnum, 5 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The AWM has 4 available add-ons including magazines, muzzles, sights and stocks.
Comment: The AWM can be considered the best sniper rifle of the four available. This gun offers the highest power and effective range in the game. However, it does have the lowest firing rate of all the sniper rifles. The AWM can only be obtained through airdrops.
Ammunition: 7.62mm, 5 shots per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The Karabiner 98 Kurz has 3 available add-ons including bullet loops, muzzles and sights.
Comment: The Karabiner 98 Kurz is the most frequently seen sniper rifle in the game. Unlike the other three sniper rifles available, this one is not airdrop exclusive.
Ammunition: 7.62mm, 5 shots per round with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The M24 has 4 available add-ons including magazines, muzzles, sights and stocks.
Comment: The M24 is a bolt-action sniper rifle exclusively found in airdrops. It is close to the AWM sniper rifle though it has less power. The M24 has excellent range as it comes with telescopic sight.
*The SKS which is covered under the DMRs section can be considered a sniper rifle.
Pistols are considered secondary weapons in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. They can function as a primary weapon if you choose so, though this is not recommended. Pistols have a low ammo capacity and deal limited damage to an enemy.
Ammunition: .45 ACP, 7 shots per clip with 100 capacity.
Attachments: The P1911 has 2 available add-ons including magazines and muzzles.
Comment: The P1911 is a handgun with very low range but good stopping power. It can deal a good amount of damage to an enemy with light armour. It has a relatively low effective range, but fairly good power for a handgun.
Ammunition: 9mm, 15 shots per clip with 100 capacity.
Attachments: The P92 has 2 available add-ons including magazines and muzzles.
Comment: The P92 is a handgun that takes around 6 bullets to drop an enemy with armour. When picking up ammo for this gun, you also obtain ammo for the Micro UZI and the UMP9.
Ammunition: 7.62mm, 7 shots per clip with 80 capacity.
Attachments: The R1895 has 1 available add-on; muzzles.
Comment: The R1895 is the only handgun that can be used with a suppressor. This revolver uses the same ammo as the AKM assault rifle. It has the best effective range across all the pistols available.
Bows are best used as a last resort or for a single shot. They do not make much noise, so they are not likely to give away your position if you can effectively kill the enemy in one shot.
Ammunition: Bolt, 1 shot per clip with 500 capacity.
Attachments: The Crossbow has 3 available add-ons including grips, magazines and sights.
Comment: The Crossbow is the only bow currently available. It has a very low effective range, no stability, and an incredibly slow firing rate. Despite these flaws, it has excellent power and can prove to be very lethal when used properly.
We hope this guide will be useful when deciding which weapon will work best for you. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is still considered in Early Access on Steam. More weapons may be added though updates and in the final release. Stay tuned for more!
