Dirt is an important crafting material in the survival game Raft and Guided.news now shows you in a nutshell where you can find dirt and what you can craft and build with it.

What is it about? In this short guide we will show you everything you need to know about dirt in Raft and give you other useful guides and tips & tricks.

Finding & using dirt in raft - this is what you need it for

Where can you find dirt? You will find dirt in Raft as soon as you reach the first larger islands. You can recognize them by their fauna, with pigs, deer or the big bird of prey that throws egg bombs at you. You'll also find the location of dirt on the shipwreck islands and the islands with a crashed plane.

Dirt or Dirt you should then look for primarily in the caves of the islands. In places this may spawn outside, though this is by chance. Dirt is a simple brown stain on the ground and can easily be mistaken for sand.

How do you mine dirt? To mine dirt in Raft, you'll need a shovel, which you'll discover in the research table. To do this, you need to research wooden planks, bolts and metal bars. Then craft the shovel as follows:

  • 1x metal bar
  • 1x bolt
  • 6x planks

Once you have crafted your shovel, you can now go to a dirt pile and mine it easily with a mouse click. In addition to the dirt, you can also get a random item. Among other things, you will get like this:

  • Scrap
  • Nails
  • Stones
  • Bolts
  • Hinges

What you use dirt for? To do something with the resource, you can either smash it into your research table or into the recycler. When you recycle, you get trash cubes, which serve as currency at the local merchants of the water world. In the research table, you get the construction plan for the Grass Plot, which you can use to feed your animals. You also need 2x dirt to build the Grass Plot.
