Over the years, DayZ fans have had to say goodbye to many beloved vehicles, and only a few have been gradually reintroduced. Now, there are growing indications that the bus will be the next vehicle to return to DayZ.
What's going on? Soon enough, the bus could experience a renaissance and return. Resourceful users claim to have found hints for it right in front of the players' eyes. For many players, this + announcements on the part of the developers is a clear sign:
The DayZ Expansion modding team has made a discovery (via youtube.com). There are now tires on the wrecks of buses in Chernarus and Livonia. Although they are burst and not removable, but as a placeholder for removable wheels is enough. Before the current update 1.18, the buses on all maps didn't even have axles, not to mention tires. The wheel wells were simply empty.
Even in the DayZ roadmap for 2022, the developers explain that they are continuing to work on the vehicles and the underlying physics calculation. Who knows: The team removed many vehicles in DayZ only because they were not compatible with the new Enfusion engine or encountered problems. Together with the new driving physics, there is nothing standing in the way of the release of the Transit Bus for DayZ.
When is the bus coming? There is no exact date for the bus or even the upcoming 1.19 update. If it stays with the current update timeframe, the next DayZ patch could be released as early as August. Between all updates in 2022 was a free month. But then it is still not sure whether the bus is included. Possible releases are August and October:
Since employees are unlikely to be working on a sixth update in December due to the holidays, this is also in line with the developers' annual goal. They want to create five big patches per year. One of these two remaining updates could also include the transit bus.
The transit, or simply bus, is an old companion of DayZ veterans. Personally, author Kevin Willing remembers tours along the coast of Chernarus. Driving the bus stuffed with loot and gear to the coast, collecting Bambis, equipping and having a crazy time. Many players are likely to equate transit synonymously with "party bus". Even players who have only recently joined the community can look forward to the following experiences:
