Already, many of the upcoming items in Sons of The Forest are known, and we have scoured the game files for unreleased weapons, tools and items and brought some of them into the game.
How does it work? We searched the game files using “Tools” and discovered many new items and weapons that we were able to spawn. In the game, we were able to unlock many items using the Command Console. For our protection, we won’t reveal the exact procedure or the tools for this. However, we did find exciting new content, which will be patched into the game with the upcoming updates to Sons of The Forest.

These weapons, tools and items will be released in the next Sons of The Forest updates.
In total, we were able to track down a good dozen new items, some of whose models are already hidden in the current version of Sons of The Forest. We’ll start with the items and weapons that we can already show you:
1. hunting rifle (sniper)
The first item we actually discovered by simply trying it, by entering “spawnitem rifle” into the console. Plop, there was actually a hunting rifle lying on the ground. We were able to pick it up and shoot with it. However, the ammunition doesn’t seem to be built into the game yet, because bullets didn’t leave the barrel. Moreover, our character holds the gun at an angle and the barrel is stuck in the ground. By the way, the weapon itself is accompanied by a sniper sight, which we were also able to spawn.
2. Airgun
Another weapon that will be added to Sons of The Forest in one of the upcoming updates is the air rifle. This is called Airgun in the original and presumably shoots stun ammunition. However, the ammunition itself is missing for its use, and currently the airgun falls through the ground when spawning. So we had to catch it in the air. The airgun also comes with a sight, but it doesn’t offer any special magnification.
3. Climbing Axe
The first tool we could find is the climbing axe. This is certainly familiar to players from the first The Forest. With the help of the climbing axe, you can climb up certain walls. However, we can’t yet confirm whether climbing works the same way in Sons of The Forest. We were able to pick up the axe and hit it, but climbing is not an option.
4. Battery Charger
A small extension is the battery charger, with which you can charge the empty batteries of your electrical devices. Among other things, you need this for the electric rod, the radio or your flashlight.
5. Portable Radio (Boombox)
You must have wondered above, “Which radio should I charge with the charger please?”, Ha’m wa you! Because a big radio will also appear with the next content updates in Sons of The Forest. You already know this one from the tent camps scattered around the island. It’s unclear whether you can simply take these radios with you, or if you have to find your own. In the first The Forest, you could place radios on tree stumps or shelves and find different music cassettes for them.
6. Sleeping Bag & Hammock
You can also find a sleeping bag in the future and place it on the ground at any position. This way you always have a portable storage point with you. Right now you can also place the sleeping bag on two to four branches, similar to what you do with the foil. This could either be a bug or you can make a kind of hammock out of your sleeping bag.
7. New Armor “Scary Skin”
The last item we could spawn is the Scary Skin. Presumably, it will be harvested from a new enemy after you finish him off. However, we can’t determine the properties of the new armor in Sons of The Forest at the moment.
