Endnight Games, the publisher of the popular survival title The Forest and its successor Sons of the Forest, follows the example of other big titles like Starfield or Hogwarts Legacy and postpones the release date of Sons of The Forest.
That’s what it’s all about: Originally, the second part of the successful survival game was supposed to be released in May of this year. After a postponement to the fourth quarter of 2022, we were curious when it would finally be at the end of the year. But now the game and its release have been postponed again.

Sons of the Forest postponed – Developer reports via Twitter
On Twitter, the developer of Sons of the Forest has now spoken out and revealed an exact release date. Many will be happy that there is finally certainty when we can dive into the world of The Forest again.
Due to the scope of our new game Sons Of The Forest, it has been hard to pinpoint an exact release date, and today we have to delay one last time.
Giving us time to complete the polish we feel is needed, we will release Feb 23, 2023, priced at $29.99USD. pic.twitter.com/9SmeLelmj6

When is it finally going to happen? Unfortunately, we won’t be able to play Sons of the Forest this year. According to developer Endnight Games, the game is scheduled for release on February 23, 2023. This means that the second part of The Forest is one of a series of games that have been postponed from late 2022 to early 2023. However, Endnight Games asserts in its statement that this is the last postponement.
Here’s why: besides the certainly tense time due to the pandemic, the developer cites the large scope of Sons of the Forest as the reason for the many postponements.
This is how much Sons of the Forest will cost: Besides the release date, another piece of information was also shared. The second part of The Forest will cost around 29.99 US dollars, almost twice as much as the first part.
We are excited and hope that the long wait for the next survival hit from Endnight and the price will be worth it.
