The Titanosaur is the largest dinosaur in ARK: Survival Evolved. You can build whole bases on his back, and you are mobile on the go. Not only is its size superior to other dinosaurs, but it is also so strong that even the smallest attack can cause major damage.
Find out everything you need to know about the largest dinosaur on the island in our Titanosaur guide.
This is the Titanosaur in ARK: Survival Evolved
Appearance: The Titanosaur is the largest dinosaur in ARK: Survival Evolved that appears to have rocks growing on it. In fact, this is his bone armor growing out of his skin. Only the dragon boss comes close to its size, but it is still smaller. Even the largest carnivore on the island, the Giganotosaurus, completely stinks against the Titanosaur. To show you just how gigantic this herbivore really is, here’s a chart comparing the sizes of some creatures in ARK:
Wild: The Titanosaur is a loner that will not attack you unless you attack it. Due to its immense size, however, it is still a danger as it quickly tramples on everything smaller such as villages, smaller dinosaurs, and forests. If you attack him without thinking, he will not consider other creatures around him and will kill his own kind if necessary. Even his weakest attacks are very effective due to such immense size that even the strongest armor cannot withstand for long.
Tamed: Once you’ve tamed a Titanosaur, you can build whatever you want on its platform saddle. It doesn’t matter whether you turn it into a kind of “warship” or a mobile base.
How to tame Titanosaur in ARK
How to hunt Titanosaur: Hunting Titanosaur is different from hunting other dinosaurs and creatures, as you don’t need tranquilizer darts. To knock him out for taming, you have two options:
Variant one is with the Quetzal, on which you attach a cannon and now try to achieve headshots on the Titanosaur. Headshots increase the torpor level, but by the time you hit the cannon a second time, the torpor is usually gone. Aiming a cannon is very slow. In a group with several Quetzals and cannons, the process is much easier.
Although resource-intensive, the second variant with a MEK, including a siege cannon, is easier to solo as aiming is faster than variant one. So you shoot the head of the Titanosaur until it K.O. goes. Titanosaur will try to attack you after the attack, just run or fly away from it, turn and keep shooting until it hangs its head. Once he hangs his head, that’s the sign you’ve made it.
Now all you have to do is slide the Titanosaur saddle into the slot provided, and he’s tamed.

Feed and breed Titanosaur
It is currently not possible to feed or breed the Titanosaur in ARK: Survival Evolved on official servers. Since the Titanosaur refuses to eat when in captivity, sooner or later it will die.
