The Boots of Speed help a lot in Baldur's Gate 3. This guide will show you exactly what these boots can do and where you can get them.

What this is about: If you own the Boots of Speed in Bauldur's Gate 3, you'll have an easier time in the sometimes brutally difficult battles. Especially while roaming the Underdark, which is the rough place to find the special footwear, there are tough opponents like the Land Shark.

The Boots of Speed help you against such nasties, for example, by doubling your movement speed when activated. So you'll be on the move almost like greased lightning. You'll learn all the details, and where exactly you can get the boots, in the next paragraph.

How to Get the Boots of Speed in Baldur's Gate 3

To get hold of the Boots of Speed, you have to go to the Underdark of Baldur's Gate 3. You'll get there during the main quest, so you're pretty much guaranteed to get there; only the search for the somewhat hidden entrance could hold you up during your journey there.

The Underrealm is a dark, almost hostile place with some particularly dangerous corners. Fortunately, you won't have to turn over every stone in your search for the Boots of Speed. To be precise, it's actually "only" a matter of finding the wounded and poisoned Thulla. She was on a group expedition, but the Duergar gave the guys a good beating.

You can find the Deep Gnome Thulla in the north of Underdark and there in the Ebonlake Grotto. The exact coordinates of her location are X: 12, Y: 205 (see also the screenshots above). Thulla writhes in pain, and the narrator describes her condition to you as poisoned. Diligent collectors should have bagged several antidote vials at this point in the story and probably haven't used them up yet.

So give Thulla an antidote. And believe it or not, but that may have been all in view of obtaining the Boots of Speed. The dark-skinned whitehead will then ask you to track down the other members of the expedition, and in the best case, she'll hand you the boots as a little helper for your mission.

If not, you can buy the Boots of Speed from Thulla in Underdark. (Baldur's Gate 3)

However, if this is not the case due to your decisions, you can visit the recovered Thulla later in the Myconid Colony. She will then sell you the seven-league boots for an affordable 450 gold. You can see her location in the picture above.

What the Boots of Speed can do for You

The Boots of Speed are Hermes boot-like footwear. These things can't be crafted and can only be obtained through Thulla. Of course, such a rare armor item has even more benefits than doubling your movement speed in skirmishes for one turn.

And there they are! The Boots of Speed grant you, among other things, double the movement speed in combat.

Thus, the high-speed strikers also increase your chances with saving throws and give the enemies a disadvantage with opportunity attacks (also for one turn each).
