BG3: Mind Flayer Colony Secret Items

Useful items are one of the main reasons why you go to Mind Flayer Colony. Below are the methods you can use to get them.

Infernal Rapier - Save Mizora

BG3: Mizora

Going deeper into the Tidepoling Center, you can find the capsule inside which Mizora is placed. Here are the coordinates: X: 675, Y: 40. Before you free her, you will need to have Wyll as a companion to get the Infernal Rapier. So, together with Wyll, free Mizora from the capsule. She'll be grateful, but it won't be enough. Continue the dialogue to pass a DC 14 Persuasion check, and then she will give you the extremely rare and powerful weapon we mentioned above.

Necrotic Laboratory

BG3: Necrotic Laboratory

By visiting the Necrotic Laboratory, you can find a puzzle that will lead you to unique items. Move to the following coordinates to get there: X: 735, Y: -110. Solving the puzzle is not difficult, all you need to do is match the "Neural connections" in the right sequence by color. When you do, you can go through the big meat door, where you can talk to Desecrated Relief and loot the following items:

  • Braindrain Gloves
  • Circlet of Mental Anguish
  • Blade of Oppressed Souls

Additionally, you can also wander around the Necrotic Laboratory to find other unique items, such as the Resonance Stone, which is located at the following coordinates: X: 700, Y: -115. Also, in addition to the stone, you can also find True Mind and talk to Slack-Skinned Head.

Ketheric Thorm

BG3: Ketheric Thorm

The last and most interesting thing you can find is Ketheric Thorm. He's located at the end of your Mind Flayer Colony journey, together with Gortash and Orin. You will have to fight him, so prepare yourself well beforehand. It's worth noting that you can free Nightsong, who is chained to the back of the arena and will support you in the battle if you help her. After defeating Ketheric Thorm, you will also receive useful items such as:

  • Ketheric's Warhammer
  • Ketheric's Shield
  • Reaper's Embrace

BG3: Mind Flayer Colony Secrets

There are also quite a few interesting secrets that will benefit you, so we created a separate category for them.

Chop and Us

BG3: Chop

The first and very interesting secret is near Mind Flayer Colony's entrance. By passing a few turns and destroying the Membrane, you can get to the Morgue, where Chop is located. Here are the coordinates: X: 666, Y: -66. After talking to Chop, you'll realize that his brain belongs entirely to the Mind Flayer Colony, and he's here to serve as a corpse chopper. Regardless, you'll need to convince Chop to give you the key to the cage where Us is imprisoned. Us is a small creature that looks like a brain with tentacles. You can either persuade Chop or kill him to get the key. Regardless of your choice, you can eventually free Us, and as a reward, you will receive the Conjure Us spell.

Tadpoling Centre

BG3: Zevlor

The next step, which may be useful in the future, is to release Zevlor from the capsule into the Mind Flayer Colony. This is not difficult, just go to the Tadpole Center, which is located at the following coordinates: X: 695, Y: 5. Once you arrive here, you will notice many capsules with characters imprisoned inside, including Zevlor. To free him, you'll need to interact with the Neural Apparatus and select Release among other options. This will release the prisoners, but some of them will already be infected with tadpoles.
