Below, you’ll learn how to get to the Upper City in Baldur’s Gate 3.
The Upper City is a location that countless players have been wondering about since it’s appearance in previous parts of Baldur’s Gate. And it is quite different in BG3 compared to previous games. And in this guide, we’ll show you how to make your way there.
BG3: How to Get to The Upper City
The Upper City is located above the Lower City behind the Baldur’s Gate waypoint, but getting there is not as simple as it might seem. If you try to cross, you will be stopped by the Elder Brain and the Emperor.
So, to get to the Upper City, you will have to complete every main quest in act three. And then, for a final battle with the Brain, you will get to the Upper City. Also, pay attention that Upper City doesn’t serve as an explorable area, so you won’t have that much to do, including no new side quests and very few characters to talk to.

The way the Upper City has been presented may be disappointing, but still, the game is huge enough for you to explore for hundreds of hours. And pay attention that as soon as you enter the Upper City, you won’t be able to go back.
