How to Equip and Use Spells in Dark and Darker
Since the spell system can be a bit confusing at first glance, we’ll show you step-by-step how to equip your spells and then use them in combat against other players or your environment.
Who can Cast Spells? There are 6 different classes in Dark and Darker. Two of them can cast spells. Namely, besides the Wizard, the Cleric can also equip spells and use them in combat to protect or even heal himself.
How the Spell Menu Works in Dark and Darker
First of all, you should take a look at the Spell menu. There you will find all the spells you can equip. You can access the menu by sitting at the table in the lobby and selecting the “Class” tab. There you will find the submenu “Spell”.
Here you can specify up to 5 spells from different levels. Note, however, that the spells “cost” different amounts. Each spell has a certain value; they must not exceed the cost limit. How much this is for you is written in the bottom center of the Spell menu.

Equip and Use Spells in Combat – It’s That Simple
Once you have selected your spells in the Spell menu, you can start a new round. You can easily choose which spell your character should equip by pressing the E key.
In the next step, you will need your wand. You need to equip it on your first or second hand and then activate it with the 1 or 2 key. Then it would be best to hold down the right mouse button to charge your spell. When you let go, the spell will be activated, and you will shoot a fireball, for example.
