Forgotten Souls are an indispensable crafting material in Diablo 4, at least in the later game. This guide will tell you how to get your hands on Forgotten Souls.

Here's the deal: Forgotten Souls are one of the more rare crafting materials in Diablo 4, because they can only be obtained during Helltide Events. You can read more about this event in this article.

Of course, it makes sense that Forgotten Souls are not served to you on a silver platter. You need them to level up your strongest equipment, i.e. Legendary Items. But how exactly does the Hell Flood work, and what do you have to do to get Forgotten Souls? The guide below will give you the answers.

Diablo 4: Where to Farm Forgotten Souls

In order to obtain Forgotten Souls, you can't avoid completing so-called Helltide events in Diablo 4, as mentioned before. The first problem with the Hell Tide is that it is unlocked only after you reach the third world level. This in turn requires the 50th character level and you also need to have completed the main story.

At least, you won't have to wait too long for Hell Tides or even look for them. Once the above conditions are met, random world events will appear on the map. Hellfloods are events where Lilith's minions have taken over a larger part of the world map. Which also means that the event cannot be missed.

Now, if you participate in the Hell Tide event, you can get Forgotten Souls in two ways. First, you should stick to the so-called Screaming Hell Veins. These are ore deposits that need to be opened and mined. In doing so, you will then randomly receive Forgotten Souls.

On the other hand, you'll get the coveted crafting material from Hellflood Chests, but the drop chances are very low in both cases. So be prepared to leave a Hell Flood event maybe empty-handed. Or even just as a corpse, because Helltide is one of the hardest events, as both the monster waves and the bosses are extremely strong.

Nevertheless, we wish you good luck with your farming!
