Merlins final Quest - “The Last Trial”

In the final quest, Merlin helps you improve your watering can to unlock previously undiscovered areas. However, this requires a strong spell. We will show you how to improve your watering can together with Merlin.

The Requirements: The quest "The Last Trial" will be unlocked as soon as you reach a friendship level of 10 with Merlin and you complete the previous quests. You must also have already unlocked WALL-E. Go to Merlin and simply talk to him. After that, the final quest will start directly.

Craft Night Shard Powder for Merlin in Dreamlight Valley

Merlin has found a way to get the most out of your watering can so that you can remove the large mushrooms that grow all over Dreamlight Valley and block important paths and bridges. To do this, your watering can needs to be improved with a spell, so Merlin needs nightshade powder.

Follow these simple steps to get the night shard powder:

• Collect 25x Night Shards - We have already shown you how to find night shards in another guide.
• Collect 5x Dream Shards. 
• Craft 5x Purified Night Shards - Process the collected dream shards and night shards into purified night shards.
• Take the purified night shards to WALL-E so that he can make night shard powder from them.

Bring the Night Shard Powder to Merlin and the first part of the final quest is done.

How to Find Falling Water, Ice Heart and Mushrooms in Dreamlight Valley

To complete the spell, you need to collect more ingredients for Merlin. In addition, Merlin will give you seeds for an ice tear. We'll show you what to do with them and how to find the somewhat special materials.

Collect the following materials for Merlin's spell:

• 1x Falling Water: We already showed you how to get the Falling Water in another guide.
• 1x Ice Heart: Merlin has given you an Ice Tear as a seed. Plant it and water it. Within a few seconds it will grow into a plant from which you can harvest the Ice Heart.
• 25x Mushrooms: You can find some mushrooms to collect in the clearing of trust. The rest you can get by watering small mushroom patches with the watering can. This will break them down and give you additional mushrooms.

Watering Can Upgrade & Large Mushroom Removal for Merlin in Dreamlight Valley

Once you have collected all the materials, you can make the Royal Watering Can Upgrading Oointment at any workbench. Take it and bring it to Merlin. Apparently, only he can apply the ointment to your watering can. Merlin will use the ointment to improve your watering can, and from now on you will be able to remove all large fungal growths.

From now on, you can also break down the large mushrooms, with the help of the watering can.

Once you have received the upgrade, you must destroy at least one large mushroom. You will also get small mushrooms, which you can use to cook sautéed mushrooms, for example. Finally, go to Merlin to complete the final quest. For this you will receive the great magic hat as a reward.
