The server room puzzle of Fort Solis is one of the few challenging puzzles of the horror exploration game. This guide will show you how to solve the cryptic task.

Here's what the server room is all about: In the third chapter of Fort Solis, your exploration of the creepy Mars station may come to a halt. At this point in the story, you'll enter a server room in the first basement of the maintenance unit, whose rear door is locked.

You'll quickly notice that this door can't be opened with security cards; instead, you'll have to face the servers in the room. What exactly is behind this puzzle and how to solve it, you'll learn in the very next paragraph.

Solution to the Server Room Puzzle in Fort Solis

Go to the back of the server room to the locked door. There you will see a corpse on the right, one of whose hands had been forcibly cut off. With this hand (it's lying on the floor to the right of the corpse) you can unlock the computer nearby.

Fort Solis Server Room Puzzle Solution 02

On the computer in the back of the server room you will see the numbers of the servers you need to activate. (Fort Solis)

Once this is done, the computer screen will display five numbers next to each other; these are the identification numbers of the servers in the server room (see picture above). Now you have to activate the servers with the corresponding numbers. In our game these were the servers

  • 25
  • 28
  • 23
  • 35
  • 39

Unfortunately, we could not check whether the servers to be activated are selected at random. However, this does not play a significant role for the solution of the puzzle.

Pressing Buttons - Nothing Easier Than That?

Now go to the first server and activate it by interacting with it first. Jessica will then lift the protection of the control panel and a power button will become visible. The trick is to press the button relatively exactly when the circle on the server display is filled. This circle presumably stands for the power button and is displayed filled in or not filled in in a flowing change.

Press the power button at the moment when the circle on the mini-screen is filled. (Fort Solis)

If it doesn't work on the first try, keep trying. In our experience, the timing does not have to be meticulously precise. You will be successful if the LEDs of the server in front of you light up white (see screenshot below). In this case, Jessica will let go of the server.

This is what the servers in question must look like: with white LEDs lit up. (Fort Solis)

All you need to do now is activate the remaining servers in the same way. Once all five servers are up, go back to the computer and interact with it. The back door in the server room will open and you can continue your exploration.
